Allen & Heath AH-QU-6 – Qu-6 Digital Mixer, 24+1 Faders is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
What is the Allen & Heath AH-QU-6 digital mixer?
The Allen & Heath AH-QU-6 is the mid-size model in the Qu-5/6/7 range, a 96kHz digital mixer with 24 onboard mic preamps, 16 XLR line outputs and 24+1 motorised faders. It mixes 38 inputs into 12 mixes, 4 matrices and main LR, with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. The Qu-6 digital mixer suits houses of worship, multi-purpose rooms, schools and corporate event spaces that need more local inputs than the Qu-5 without moving to a larger console platform.
How does the Allen & Heath AH-QU-6 work?
Each of the 24 combi XLR/jack preamps feeds a fully processed channel, and the engine runs at 96kHz with under 0.7ms latency from local mic input to main LR. With 24+1 faders across 4 layers, most services or events can be mixed with every key channel on its own fader. Six RackExtra FX engines with dedicated stereo returns and a 32-channel Automatic Mic Mixer cover both music and spoken-word programs.
The 128x128 SLink port connects stageboxes and Everything I/O in dSnake, DX or gigaACE modes. A 32x32 USB-C audio interface feeds recording and streaming computers, the SD slot captures up to 16 tracks at 96kHz or 32 at 48kHz, and USB-A records stereo. Free apps for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android allow remote mixing from anywhere in the room.
What are the key features of the Allen & Heath AH-QU-6?
- 24 local mic preamps — covers a full band or a large panel without a stagebox.
- 24+1 faders over 4 layers — more channels at hand for busy services and events.
- 38 inputs to mix — room for USB, FX and expansion sources alongside local mics.
- 96kHz, sub-0.7ms latency — clean, low-latency processing for monitors and mains.

- 32-channel Automatic Mic Mixer — automatic gain sharing for meetings and lectures.
- 128x128 SLink port — adds remote I/O over a single Cat cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Qu-6 and Qu-6D?
The Qu-6D adds a built-in 16x16 Dante interface on a dedicated EtherCON port. Channel count, faders and processing are otherwise the same.
Can I add more inputs on stage?
Yes. The SLink port connects remote racks such as the AR2412 stage rack in dSnake mode, as well as DX and GX expanders.
Does it work with personal monitor mixers?
Yes. In dSnake mode the SLink port carries ME outputs for mixers such as the AH-ME-500 personal mixer.
Is the Qu-6 rack mountable?
No. Allen & Heath offers the optional 19-inch rack kit for the Qu-5 and Qu-5D only.
When should I consider the SQ series?
For a 48-channel engine and more buses, see the Allen & Heath SQ-6 and the full Allen & Heath collection.
