The Allen & Heath AH-M-DL-WAVES3-A is the Waves V3 SoundGrid network interface card for dLive and Avantis. It fits a single I/O port and provides a 128x128 channel interface to the Waves SoundGrid platform at 48kHz or 96kHz. Integrators use this Waves SoundGrid card for Waves plugin processing, multitrack recording, audio distribution and digital mic splitting in live and installed systems.
How does the Allen & Heath AH-M-DL-WAVES3-A work?
The card installs in an I/O port on a dLive MixRack, dLive surface or Avantis console and connects to the SoundGrid network over Ethernet. Waves plugins can run on a computer or a dedicated Waves server, with audio passing to and from the mixer over the network. For recording, up to 128 tracks of 96kHz audio can be captured into a computer over a single Ethernet cable.
Three SoundGrid ports, served by an integrated three-port Ethernet switch, let the card connect to several devices at once, such as a server, a recording computer and a second console. Input sharing with other Waves V2 and V3 cards supports digital splits between front-of-house and monitor positions. The card requires dLive firmware V1.3 or later and is secured with four captive thumb screws once the I/O port blank is removed.

Can I use it alongside Dante?
Yes. dLive MixRacks have three I/O ports, so the Waves card can sit next to a card such as the Dante 128x128 card.
What firmware is required?
dLive firmware V1.3 or later. We recommend running current firmware across the whole system.
Is installation difficult?
No. Remove the I/O port blank panel, slide in the card and tighten the four captive thumb screws. Creation Networks can also configure the SoundGrid network during commissioning.
