Product Overview
The Adder ALIF3000R-US is the ADDERLink INFINITY 3000R, a dual-head USB 2.0 IP KVM extender receiver that gives a single operator access to both physical computers and virtual machines from one console. Alongside real-time KVM connections to ADDERLink INFINITY transmitters, this IP KVM receiver with VDI access runs integrated viewers for RDP, VNC, HTML5, Horizon (Blast and PCoIP), and SSH, so virtualized servers and physical hardware are reachable from a single human-machine interface. It is purpose-built for control rooms and broadcast facilities consolidating mixed physical-and-virtual estates onto one desk.
Product Description
From the KVM network, the ALIF3000R drives one display at 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz or two displays at 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz, and it can decode streams from ALIF transmitter families including ALIF100T, ALIF1002T, ALIF2002T, ALIF2020T, and (bandwidth-limited) ALIF4021T. For VDI inputs, supported resolutions extend to UHD 3840 x 2160. Adder's spatially-lossless encoding with 1:1 pixel mapping ensures KVM video from ALIF transmitters arrives pixel-perfect and color accurate.

Network design is unusually flexible. Two 1GbE SFP ports provide the redundant, teamed connectivity expected of the ALIF range, while a third 1GbE CATx RJ45 port is dedicated to VM access for installations where the KVM network and the corporate network must remain separated. VM resources can also be reached via the KVM ports when separation is not required.

Six USB 2.0 True Emulation ports accept keyboards, mice, graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, and 3D controllers, with class control that can disable non-HID devices in secure applications — no physical port blocking required. The platform is a closed, hardened KVM system built on Intel x86 architecture; unauthorized software cannot be loaded without administrator approval. The receiver is fully backwards compatible with existing ADDERLink INFINITY matrices, and with the AIM management server (ASP-001) it participates in a scalable IP KVM matrix linking any workstation to any computer. Key Features
- Physical and Virtual Access — One console controls unlimited physical KVM sources and virtual machines via RDP, VNC, HTML5, Horizon (Blast and PCoIP), and SSH.
- Dual-Head Video over 1GbE — One 2560 x 1600 or two 1920 x 1200 displays from the KVM network, with UHD 3840 x 2160 support for VDI inputs.
- Pixel-Perfect KVM Video — Spatially-lossless 1:1 pixel mapping for artifact-free, color-accurate video from ALIF transmitters.
- Separated Network Paths — Dual 1GbE SFP ports for redundant KVM networking plus a dedicated third 1GbE CATx port for isolated VM access.
- USB 2.0 with Class Control — Six True Emulation ports support HID and specialty devices; non-HID classes can be disabled for security.
- Hardened, Closed Platform — Intel x86-based appliance that blocks unauthorized software without administrator approval.
- Backwards Compatible — Drops into existing ADDERLink INFINITY matrices alongside legacy ALIF transmitters.
- Bi-Directional Audio — Two-channel analog line out, headphone, and microphone, with digital output via the video connectors.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio operations bridging physical playout hardware and virtualized graphics systems
- Government space monitoring desks requiring separated KVM and corporate networks
- Commercial meeting space and enterprise operations centers consolidating VM and physical access
- Training room consoles where instructors switch between lab hardware and virtual desktops

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the ALIF3000R need a matching transmitter?
For physical KVM sources, yes — it decodes streams from ALIF transmitters such as ALIF1002T, ALIF2002T, ALIF2020T, and a 1GbE-limited ALIF4021T. Virtual machines are reached directly through the built-in RDP, VNC, HTML5, Horizon, and SSH viewers with no transmitter required.
Can the VM network be kept separate from the KVM network?
Yes. A dedicated third 1GbE CATx port handles VM access independently of the dual SFP KVM ports, supporting separated-network security policies.
Does it work with my existing ADDERLink INFINITY matrix?
Yes. The ALIF3000R is fully backwards compatible and can be added to an existing AIM-managed matrix to bring VM access to current deployments.
How is USB security handled?
USB class control allows administrators to disable non-HID devices such as mass storage, removing the need to physically block ports in secure rooms.
Is an SFP module included?
Yes, one SFP-CATX-RJ45 1GbE copper module ships in the box; additional fiber or copper SFPs are available separately.
What management is required for matrix operation?
Point-to-point use needs no manager. For matrix routing across many endpoints, add the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (ASP-001), available with capacity licenses at Creation Networks.
