Product Overview
The Adder ALIF2112T-US ADDERLink INFINITY 2112 is a dual-head/dual-link DVI IP KVM transmitter with an integrated RealVNC server, built for control rooms and broadcast facilities that need pixel-perfect DVI extension over a standard 1GbE IP network. As a KVM over IP transmitter with VNC remote access, it lets up to 16 remote users securely reach a target computer at BIOS level from outside the network, while local matrix users continue working without interruption. For organizations standardizing on a dual-link DVI KVM extender over IP, the ALIF2112T delivers uncompressed-quality video, USB 2.0, audio, and RS232 across copper or fiber.
Product Description
The ADDERLink INFINITY 2112 transmitter connects to a target computer's DVI-D, USB, and audio ports and places that machine on the IP network as a managed KVM endpoint. Video is carried with pixel-perfect quality at up to 24 bits per color, supporting either two single-link DVI displays at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz or one dual-link display at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz.

What sets the 2112 apart from other units in the INFINITY family is its embedded RealVNC server with RFB 3.3 support. Up to 16 VNC users can access the connected computer from outside the KVM network, with enterprise-grade protection through AES 256-bit encryption and RSA 2048-bit public key authentication. This makes the unit a practical choice for facilities that need out-of-band, BIOS-level access for administrators working off-site.

Extension distance runs to 100m (330ft) over CATx cable, and considerably farther over fiber using the SFP slot — up to 10km depending on the fiber module. The RS232 port is reserved for power control, allowing remote re-boot of the target computer through compatible power switches. Dual network paths provide failover: if a failure is detected on the primary link, the unit switches to the second network port. Intelligent EDID management mirrors the true characteristics of the user's monitor back to the source computer, and USB True Emulation supports HID peripherals from keyboards and mice to graphics tablets, jog shuttles, and 3D controllers.
Deployed alongside the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM), multiple INFINITY endpoints become a fully scalable IP KVM matrix. Browse the complete Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks for matching receivers, SFP modules, and rack mount kits.
Key Features
- Integrated RealVNC Server — Up to 16 remote users gain secure, out-of-band, BIOS-level access to the connected computer from outside the KVM network.
- Enterprise-Grade Security — AES 256-bit encryption and RSA 2048-bit public key authentication protect every VNC session.
- Dual-Head or Dual-Link DVI Video — Supports two single-link displays at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz or one dual-link display at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz with up to 24 bits per color.
- Copper or Fiber Extension — Reaches 100m (330ft) over CATx or up to 10km over fiber via the optional SFP module slot.
- USB True Emulation — USB 2.0 support (low, full, and high speed) handles any HID device, with a security option to block non-HID devices.
- Network Redundancy — Detects link failure and automatically utilizes the second network port for resilient operation.
- Remote Power Control — Dedicated RS232 port communicates with power switches to remotely re-boot the target computer.
- Plug and Play — Ships in a zero-config state with no drivers or software required, and EDID management ensures correct video output immediately.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio — keep production computers in the machine room while operators retain real-time DVI control at the desk.
- Government space — secure, encrypted remote access with non-HID USB blocking for sensitive installations.
- Training room — extend instructor workstations from a secured equipment closet to the presentation position.
- Commercial meeting space — relocate noisy host PCs away from the room while preserving full keyboard, video, and mouse response.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the ALIF2112T-US require a matching receiver?
No. It is sold as a transmitter only. Remote users can connect directly through the integrated VNC server, or the unit can be paired with ADDERLink INFINITY receivers as part of a matrix deployment.
Can it be managed within an AIM matrix?
Yes. With the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager, the transmitter becomes an endpoint in a scalable IP KVM matrix alongside other INFINITY devices.
What operating systems are supported on the target computer?
All known operating systems are supported. The unit ships zero-config, so no drivers or software are installed on the host.
How far can I extend over fiber?
The SFP slot accepts optional fiber modules; extension distances depend on the module and fiber type, reaching up to 10km on suitable single-mode links.
Can I prevent users from attaching USB storage devices?
Yes. A built-in security feature allows blocking of non-HID USB devices, so flash drives and similar peripherals can be disabled without physically blocking ports.
