Product Overview
The Adder ALIF2020T is the transmitter unit of the ADDERLink INFINITY Dual 2020 system, encoding dual-head single-link DVI-D video, USB 2.0, and bi-directional analog audio from a source computer onto a standard 1GbE IP network. It attaches at the computer side — in the server room or equipment rack — and streams pixel-perfect video to an ALIF2020 receiver at the operator's desk, across the building or up to 20km over fiber. As a dual-head DVI IP KVM transmitter for point-to-point extension or AIM-managed matrix systems, the ALIF2020T supports two displays at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz with real-time, at-the-PC responsiveness.
Product Description
The ALIF2020T captures two single-link DVI-D outputs from the host computer and encodes them with Adder's spatially-lossless, 1:1 pixel-mapped compression: the video arriving at the remote console is identical to the video leaving the computer, with no artifacts and color-accurate reproduction. A Magic Eye feature manages the dithered video output common to Mac Pro graphics cards, preventing dithering's inflated data rates from degrading link performance.

The unit connects to the host via a single USB-B port with True Emulation high-speed USB, plus 3.5mm audio in/out for bi-directional stereo and RS232 serial pass-through at up to 115,200 baud. On the network side, an RJ45 port covers copper runs to 100m per segment — repeatable through standard 1GbE switches for effectively unlimited distance — while the SFP cage takes fiber transceivers for links up to 20km. The two interfaces can be teamed for redundant network operation. Intelligent EDID management passes the remote monitor's true characteristics back to the computer, so video configures correctly without manual intervention.

Point-to-point, pair it with the ALIF2020R receiver for a zero-config dual-head extender. At scale, register it with an ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) and the computer becomes a source on a full IP KVM matrix — routable to any station, shareable co-operatively, and multicastable to multiple receivers. The fanless 1U chassis is rated at 600,000 hours MTBF and ships with dual DVI cables, USB cable, and audio cables for immediate installation. Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a DVI or HDMI transmitter?
The ALIF2020T is a dual-head single-link DVI-D transmitter, supporting two streams at up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz, per Adder's specification for the INFINITY Dual 2020.
What do I need for a complete point-to-point link?
One ALIF2020T at the computer and one ALIF2020R at the console, connected by CATx or fiber. All host-side cables ship in the box.
How does it scale into a matrix?
Register the transmitter with an ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM). The host computer then becomes routable to any receiver station on the matrix, with co-operative sharing and video multicasting; the AIM server is base-licensed for 24 endpoints.
What distances are achievable?
100m per copper segment — repeatable through standard 1GbE network devices — or up to 20km over fiber with SFP transceivers.
Does it need drivers on the host computer?
No. The unit is zero-config and compatible with all known operating systems; EDID management is automatic.
Can the network connection be made resilient?
Yes. The RJ45 and SFP interfaces support teaming for fully redundant network operation.
