Product Overview
The Adder AIMLIC-UPG-BCK-48-96 is an AIM license upgrade that moves an existing 48-endpoint license to 96 endpoints on both a primary and a backup ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) server. It is designed for redundant KVM-over-IP deployments that have outgrown 48 endpoints and need to double capacity while preserving failover protection. The upgrade is delivered electronically as a license key, so both AIM servers are raised to the new tier without any hardware changes. After application, the IP KVM matrix can manage up to 96 ADDERLink INFINITY endpoints with matching primary and backup entitlements.
Product Description
Resilient ADDERLink INFINITY deployments run two AIM servers as a primary and backup/failover pair. Each unit fits in 1U of rack space and offers dual network interfaces (2× SFP + 1× RJ45, 1GbE) that can be routed independently or teamed. The "-BCK" license SKUs cover both servers, ensuring the backup carries the same endpoint capacity as the primary and can assume management duties without restriction.
This upgrade SKU applies to sites already licensed for 48 endpoints across the redundant pair. Applying the AIMLIC-UPG-BCK-48-96 key doubles capacity to 96 endpoints on both units. The ADDERLink INFINITY Manager ASP-001 platform continues to provide matrix routing of any user station to any connected computer, co-operative sharing of machines between operators, and video multicasting to multiple destinations without compromising video quality or control.
Doubling licensed capacity in a redundant pair is a common step for facilities adding new operator positions or consolidating more source machines into the equipment room. If growth continues, further "-BCK" upgrades carry the pair to 288 endpoints and beyond, up to the unlimited tier. Compatible ALIF transmitters and receivers are available in the Adder Technology collection.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need before purchasing this upgrade?
A primary and backup AIM server pair currently licensed for 48 endpoints. This SKU raises both units to 96 endpoints.
Why does the backup server need licensing?
"-BCK" SKUs keep the backup/failover unit's entitlement matched to the primary, so a failover event never reduces available endpoint capacity.
Is any hardware shipped?
No. The upgrade is delivered electronically as a license key applied through the AIM management interface.
I run a single AIM server — is this the right product?
No. Primary-only deployments should use the non-BCK upgrade SKUs. Contact Creation Networks if you are unsure which license fits your installation.
Can the pair be upgraded again later?
Yes. Further "-BCK" upgrade SKUs move the pair to 288 endpoints or to unlimited as the deployment grows.
