Product Overview
The Adder AIMLIC-UPG-96-288 is an ADDERLink INFINITY Manager license upgrade that raises a primary AIM server from 96 managed endpoints to 288. This AIM license upgrade triples the capacity of an established ADDERLink INFINITY (ALIF) IP KVM matrix while crediting the existing 96-endpoint tier, making it the economical route for major expansions. Supplied as an electronic license key for the AIM server, the 288-endpoint KVM matrix upgrade deploys without new hardware, rewiring, or downtime, keeping large control room and broadcast operations on their existing IP network design.
Product Description
ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM, SKU ASP-001) is the management server that turns ALIF endpoints into an IP KVM matrix over standard IP networks, providing any-station-to-any-computer routing, co-operative sharing of computers, and video multicasting to multiple destinations. Endpoint capacity is licensed in tiers: the base server includes 24 endpoints, with AIMLIC licenses extending to 48, 96, 192, 288, or unlimited.

This SKU is the primary-only upgrade between the 96 and 288 tiers. It applies to a single AIM server already licensed for 96 endpoints; once the key is activated, that server can manage up to 288 ALIF transmitters and receivers. Installations that also operate a backup/failover AIM unit should select the corresponding "-BCK" upgrade variant so both servers in the redundant pair remain licensed identically.

A jump from 96 to 288 endpoints typically accompanies a significant facility build-out — additional galleries in a broadcast plant, new operator pods in a control room, or consolidation of several equipment rooms onto one managed matrix. Because the change is license-only, routing policies, user permissions, and network topology carry forward unchanged. The upgrade applies to the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (ASP-001-US) server; see the full range in our Adder Technology collection.
Key Features
- 96 to 288 Endpoint Expansion — Triples the managed endpoint ceiling of a primary AIM server in a single license step.
- Tier-to-Tier Upgrade Pricing — Credits the existing 96-endpoint tier rather than requiring a full repurchase of capacity.
- Electronic License Key — No additional hardware; applies to the in-service AIM server without downtime.
- Full Matrix Functionality — Any-station-to-any-computer routing, co-operative sharing, and video multicasting extend across all 288 endpoints.
- Configuration Carries Forward — Users, permissions, and routing policies remain intact; only the endpoint ceiling changes.
- Path to Unlimited — A subsequent UPG license moves the server from 288 to unlimited endpoints when needed.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio plants consolidating multiple galleries onto one managed ALIF matrix
- Government spaces expanding secure routed access across additional operator positions
- Training rooms and technical operations centers scaling shared computer pools facility-wide

Frequently Asked Questions
What is required before applying this upgrade?
A primary AIM server (ASP-001) already licensed at the 96-endpoint tier. The UPG key raises that server to 288 endpoints.
Does this license cover a backup AIM server?
No. This is the primary-only variant. For redundant pairs, use the matching "-BCK" upgrade so the failover unit keeps equal capacity.
Will the upgrade disrupt the running matrix?
No hardware change is involved; the electronic license applies to the existing server and configuration carries forward.
What comes after 288 endpoints?
The AIMLIC-UPG-288-UNL license moves the server from 288 to unlimited endpoints.
Which devices count toward the endpoint total?
ADDERLink INFINITY (ALIF) transmitters and receivers managed by the AIM server over standard IP networks.
