Product Overview
The Adder AIMLIC-UPG-48-96 is an ADDERLink INFINITY Manager license upgrade that moves a primary AIM server from 48 managed endpoints to 96. This AIM license upgrade is the cost-efficient path for organizations whose ADDERLink INFINITY (ALIF) IP KVM matrix has outgrown its current tier: rather than repurchasing capacity, the UPG license credits the existing 48-endpoint tier and expands it. Delivered as an electronic license key for the AIM server, the 96-endpoint KVM matrix upgrade installs with no additional hardware and no downtime.
Product Description
ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM, SKU ASP-001) is the management server that turns ALIF endpoints into an IP KVM matrix over standard IP networks, providing any-station-to-any-computer routing, co-operative sharing of computers, and video multicasting to multiple destinations. AIM capacity is licensed in tiers — the base server covers 24 endpoints, and AIMLIC licenses extend that to 48, 96, 192, 288, or unlimited.

This SKU is the primary-only upgrade between the 48 and 96 tiers. It applies to a single AIM server already licensed for 48 endpoints; once activated, that server manages up to 96 ALIF transmitters and receivers. Deployments that also run a backup/failover AIM unit should use the corresponding "-BCK" upgrade variant so the standby server keeps matching capacity.

Because the upgrade is purely a license change, the matrix keeps its existing IP network design, endpoint wiring, and operator workflow — the only difference is the higher endpoint ceiling. This makes the UPG path well suited to phased control room build-outs and broadcast facilities adding sources and operator positions over time. The upgrade applies to the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (ASP-001-US) server, and related licenses and endpoints are in our Adder Technology collection.
Key Features
- 48 to 96 Endpoint Expansion — Doubles the managed endpoint ceiling of a primary AIM server without repurchasing existing capacity.
- Tier-to-Tier Upgrade Pricing — The UPG license credits the current 48-endpoint tier, making phased growth more economical than buying full licenses.
- Electronic License Key — No additional hardware; the upgrade applies to the in-service AIM server without downtime.
- Full Matrix Functionality — Any-station-to-any-computer routing, co-operative sharing, and video multicasting extend across all 96 endpoints.
- Standard IP Network Operation — Capacity grows on the existing IP network with no proprietary switching changes.
- Further Headroom Available — Subsequent UPG licenses continue the path to 288 and unlimited endpoints.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio expansions adding sources and operator positions to an existing ALIF matrix
- Government spaces scaling secure operator-to-computer routing in phases
- Training rooms growing the pool of shared computers available to operator stations

Frequently Asked Questions
What must be in place before applying this upgrade?
A primary AIM server (ASP-001) already licensed at the 48-endpoint tier. The UPG license raises that server to 96 endpoints.
Does this cover a backup AIM server too?
No. This is the primary-only variant. Redundant deployments should use the matching "-BCK" upgrade so the failover unit keeps equal capacity.
Is any hardware change or downtime required?
No. The upgrade is an electronic license key applied to the existing server.
Can I keep upgrading after reaching 96 endpoints?
Yes. The AIMLIC UPG path continues to 288 and unlimited endpoint tiers as the matrix grows.
Which devices count as endpoints?
ADDERLink INFINITY (ALIF) transmitters and receivers managed by the AIM server over standard IP networks.
