Product Overview

The Adder AIMLIC-288 is an AIM software license that expands an ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (ASP-001) to manage up to 288 ADDERLink INFINITY endpoints on a single primary server. It is the license tier for large-scale IP KVM matrix deployments — broadcast facilities, government operations, and campus-wide control infrastructures — where hundreds of transmitters and receivers must be routed, shared, and multicast over a standard IP network. Delivered as an electronic license applied to the AIM server, it scales the KVM-over-IP matrix without any additional hardware.

Product Description

The ADDERLink INFINITY Manager transforms ALIF extender endpoints into a high-performance IP KVM matrix running on standard IP networking. The base ASP-001 appliance ships licensed for 24 endpoints; AIMLIC licenses expand that capacity in tiers of 48, 96, 192, 288, or unlimited. The AIMLIC-288 sits at the upper fixed tier, sized for installations where a single management server coordinates up to 288 transmitters and receivers across one or more equipment rooms.

With AIM in control, operators can switch any user station to any connected computer, share computers co-operatively between multiple users, and multicast video to many receivers simultaneously — all without compromising video quality or control responsiveness. For commercial AV integrators, this means desks, operator positions, and presentation endpoints across a facility can all draw from centralized, rack-mounted computer resources, with switching managed in software rather than physical patching.

The AIM appliance itself provides dual network interfaces (2× SFP plus 1× RJ45, 1GbE) that can be independently routed or teamed, supporting segregated or redundant network designs common in commercial deployment. Because the AIMLIC-288 is a digital key applied to the AIM server, installation is a license activation task with no rack work or recabling. Note that this SKU covers the primary AIM server only — for redundant architectures with a backup/failover unit, the AIMLIC-288-BCK licenses both servers. If growth beyond 288 endpoints is on the roadmap, the AIMLIC-UNL unlimited license removes the ceiling entirely.

Key Features

  • 288 Endpoint Capacity — Licenses a single primary AIM server to manage up to 288 ADDERLink INFINITY transmitters and receivers.
  • Full IP KVM Matrix Routing — Routes any user station to any connected computer over a standard IP network.
  • Co-operative Sharing — Allows multiple operators to share access to the same computer for collaborative control workflows.
  • Video Multicasting — Distributes video to multiple receivers without compromising video quality or control.
  • Electronic License Delivery — Supplied as a software license/digital key applied to the AIM server; no additional hardware required.
  • Scalable License Path — Part of the AIMLIC tier structure (48, 96, 192, 288, unlimited) with UPG SKUs available to move between tiers later.
  • Redundancy-Ready Architecture — Compatible with backup and satellite AIM appliances for 24/7 reliability; primary and backup units fit in a single 1U rack space.
  • Dual Network Interfaces — The AIM server's 2× SFP plus 1× RJ45 (1GbE) ports can be independently routed or teamed.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studios routing production, playout, and master control positions to centralized machine rooms
  • Government spaces consolidating large numbers of secure operator stations onto a managed KVM matrix
  • Commercial meeting spaces and campuses serving hundreds of user stations from central equipment rooms
  • Training rooms connecting instructor and trainee stations to shared computer pools
  • Auditoriums and multi-purpose rooms fed from rack-mounted sources over the IP KVM matrix

Frequently Asked Questions

What hardware does the AIMLIC-288 require?

It applies to the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager appliance (ASP-001), which ships licensed for 24 endpoints. The AIMLIC-288 expands that server's capacity to 288 ADDERLink INFINITY endpoints.

Does this license cover a backup AIM server?

No. The AIMLIC-288 licenses the primary AIM server only. For redundant deployments with a backup/failover unit, the AIMLIC-288-BCK covers both servers with one license.

How is the license installed?

It is delivered electronically as a software license/digital key and applied to the AIM server through its management interface. There is no additional hardware, rack work, or recabling involved.

Can I upgrade beyond 288 endpoints later?

Yes. Adder offers UPG SKUs that upgrade an existing license between tiers, including paths to the unlimited tier, so the AIMLIC-288 does not lock in your final system size.

What counts as an endpoint?

ADDERLink INFINITY series transmitters and receivers managed by the AIM server each count toward the 288-endpoint capacity.

Does AIM affect video quality when switching or multicasting?

No. AIM routes user stations, shares computers co-operatively, and multicasts video across the IP KVM matrix without compromising video quality or control.

Can Creation Networks assist with AV system integration?

Yes. Creation Networks works with commercial AV integrators, IT and facilities teams, and system designers on AIM licensing and deployment planning across the Adder Technology collection.
