Sharp Classroom & Portable Projectors (1 products)

Sharp Classroom & Portable Projectors

Sharp classroom projectors are the compact 4,000 to 4,500 lumen 3LCD models built for everyday teaching: quick startup, quiet operation, simple menus, and enough brightness to stay readable with the classroom lights on. They mount to a short-throw arm above the board or move room to room on a cart. Creation Networks supplies the current Sharp classroom lineup with mounts, carrying cases, and replacement parts.

Models in This Collection

  • NP-ME423X — 4,500 lumen XGA with 1.7x zoom, the flexible-placement choice for retrofits.
  • NP-ME403U — 4,000 lumen WUXGA with 1.6x zoom for widescreen native content.
  • NP-MC453X — 4,500 lumen XGA with 1.2x zoom.
  • NP-MC423W — 4,200 lumen WXGA with 1.2x zoom.
  • Accessories — NP05LM1 wireless LAN module, NP402CASE soft carrying case, and NP02Pi interactive stylus pen.

Why Specify a Classroom Projector

  • 4,000 to 4,500 lumens stays legible with overhead lights on, which is how classrooms actually run
  • 1.2x to 1.7x zoom ranges accommodate existing mount positions in a retrofit
  • 3LCD delivers equal white and color brightness, so colored text and diagrams stay saturated
  • Optional wireless LAN module lets teachers present from a laptop or tablet without cabling
  • Far lower cost per diagonal inch than an interactive flat panel for large image sizes

Typical Applications

  • K-12 and higher-education classrooms
  • Training rooms and professional development spaces
  • Small houses of worship and community halls
  • Portable presentation carts and mobile AV kits
  • Conference rooms without a permanent display

Getting Classroom Projection Right

Two things decide whether a classroom projector gets used or ignored: how fast it comes on, and whether the back row can read it with the lights on. Brightness is the part people specify and zoom range is the part they forget, but in a retrofit the zoom range is what determines whether the projector works from the mount already in the ceiling. A 1.7x zoom model like the NP-ME423X gives a district far more freedom to reuse existing mounts than a 1.2x model does.

Creation Networks can check throw distances against your existing mount positions before you order, and quote district-wide volumes with matching mounts and spares.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sharp Classroom Projectors

Q: How many lumens does a classroom projector need?
A: 4,000 to 4,500 lumens is the practical range for a standard classroom with overhead lighting on. Below about 3,500 the image starts to wash out unless shades are drawn.

Q: Should I choose XGA, WXGA, or WUXGA?
A: Match the aspect ratio of your content and screen. WXGA and WUXGA are widescreen and suit laptop and video content; XGA is 4:3 and is usually chosen to match an existing 4:3 screen.

Q: Can teachers present wirelessly?
A: Yes, with the NP05LM1 wireless LAN module installed. It supports presenting from a laptop or mobile device without running a cable to the lectern.

Q: Do these projectors use lamps or laser?
A: The NP-MC and NP-ME classroom models are lamp-based, using the NP47LP among others. If you want to eliminate lamp replacement, look at the Sharp laser projector range instead.

Q: Is a projector or an interactive panel better for a classroom?
A: Panels win on brightness and built-in interactivity; projectors win decisively on cost once the image goes past about 90 inches. Many districts use panels in standard rooms and projectors in large or specialty spaces.
