Cart, stand or enclosure

A cart is for displays that move between rooms — classrooms, training spaces, demonstration areas. A floor stand is for a fixed position where wall mounting is not an option: glass walls, historic buildings, leased space where drilling is not permitted, or a display that needs to sit away from the wall. An enclosure protects a standard commercial display so it can run outdoors or in an unconditioned space.

Specifying a cart or stand

Check display weight and VESA pattern first, then whether the base has to carry equipment as well as the screen — a codec, a PC, a soundbar. Shelves, laptop trays and equipment brackets mount to the column and are ordered separately, and a training room cart without a shelf for the codec becomes a cart with a codec balanced on top of it.

Motorized height adjustment matters wherever the same display serves seated and standing viewers, and in any context where ADA reach ranges apply. Fixed height is cheaper and steadier where that is not a factor. Dual-display video conferencing carts put two screens and a camera on one frame, which suits rooms that need a conferencing position without a permanent install.

Climate enclosures

Active climate enclosures heat and cool a standard commercial display so it can survive outdoors. For larger screen sizes that is usually cheaper than an outdoor-rated panel, and it protects against vandalism as well as weather — but it needs power for the climate system and a service access plan before the position is fixed.
