Extron Cable Cubby, AAP Plates & Cable Retractors (219 products)

Extron architectural connectivity for tables, lecterns, walls and floor boxes — Cable Cubby enclosures, AAP and MAAP adapter plates, and Retractor cable retraction systems. These are the parts that get signal and power from a user's laptop into the rack without loose cable on the table.

Cable Cubby table boxes

Cable Cubby enclosures mount into a conference table, lectern or desk and hold AC power, AV connectors and control in a single recessed box. Models differ by cavity depth, door style and how many AAP openings they accept, so the box is chosen from the connector count the room needs and the table thickness it has to fit. Power modules and AC outlets are ordered alongside.

AAP and MAAP adapter plates

Architectural Adapter Plates are the modular faceplates that populate a Cable Cubby, wall box or floor box. AAP is the full-size format; MAAP is the half-size module for tighter openings. Plates are available in HDMI, USB, network, audio, and blank configurations, plus punch-down and pass-through variants. Count the connectors the room actually needs before specifying the enclosure — the plate layout determines the box.

Retractor cable retraction systems

Retractors keep a captive cable at the table and pull it back out of sight when the meeting ends. Specify by cable type and pull length, and note that a retractor consumes an AAP opening in the enclosure, so it has to be counted in the plate layout rather than added afterwards.

Specifying a table connectivity system

These three product lines are ordered together because they only work together — an enclosure without the right plates is an empty box, and a retractor without a reserved opening has nowhere to live. Creation Networks specifies the full assembly against the table drawing and furniture cutout, then handles installation and cable termination. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.

Cable Cubby FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions — Extron Cable Cubby, AAP & Retractors

Answers to common questions about specifying Extron table and lectern connectivity.

What is a Cable Cubby?

A Cable Cubby is a recessed enclosure that mounts into a conference table, lectern, or desk, holding AC power, AV connectors, and control in a single box so cables don't run loose across the table.

What's the difference between AAP and MAAP plates?

AAP is the full-size adapter plate format; MAAP is the half-size module for tighter openings. Both come in HDMI, USB, network, audio, and blank configurations.

How do I choose the right Cable Cubby size?

Size is chosen from the connector count the room needs and the table thickness it has to fit — count the connectors first, since the plate layout determines the box.

What is a Retractor and do I need one?

A Retractor keeps a captive cable at the table and pulls it back out of sight when the meeting ends. It consumes an AAP opening in the enclosure, so it must be counted in the plate layout, not added afterward.

Do you provide table connectivity design and installation?

Yes. Creation Networks specifies the full assembly against the table drawing and furniture cutout, then handles installation and cable termination.

Choosing the Right Extron Cable Cubby for Your Table

Extron Cable Cubby is the reference standard for table-based AV connectivity, and the range is wide enough that picking the right model matters. Compact models such as the Cable Cubby 500 and 700 suit huddle tables where you need HDMI, USB-C, and a power outlet. Larger enclosures like the Cable Cubby 1200C, 1252 MS, and 1402 add cavity depth for AC modules, retractors, and multiple AAP or Flex55 module spaces. The Cable Cubby 650 UT mounts under the table for surfaces that cannot be cut, and the F55 and F55 Edge enclosures pair with the Flex55 module family for the cleanest modern look.

Creation Networks stocks Cable Cubby enclosures, AC and USB power modules, retractor assemblies, and mounting brackets so you can order a complete table kit in one place. Black, white, and brushed aluminum finishes are available across most of the line.

Frequently Asked Questions About Extron Cable Cubby

Q: Which Cable Cubby model should I choose?
A: Start with how many modules and power outlets you need and how much room is under the table. The 500 and 700 are compact, the 1200C and 1402 give you more cavity for AC modules and retractors, and the 650 UT mounts underneath when you cannot cut the surface.

Q: Does the Cable Cubby include a power module?
A: Not always. Many enclosures ship without an AC module so you can pick the right regional power configuration. Product titles that read AC Module Not Included need a separate power module ordered alongside them.

Q: What modules fit inside a Cable Cubby?
A: Cable Cubby enclosures accept Extron AAP and MAAP architectural adapter plates, and the F55 models accept Flex55 modules. That gives you HDMI, USB-C, network, audio, and legacy connector options in the same enclosure.

Q: Can I add retractable cables?
A: Yes. Extron Retractor modules and CCR Cable Cubby Retractor enclosures keep HDMI, USB-C, and network cables attached and out of sight, which removes the most common cause of missing cables in shared rooms.

Q: What finishes are available?
A: Most Cable Cubby models are offered in black, white, and brushed aluminum so the enclosure can be matched to the furniture rather than standing out on the table.
