What does an audio DSP do?
It mixes microphones, cancels echo on calls, routes sources to zones, and applies EQ, delay and limiting to speakers. One DSP can run a single room or a whole building.
Fixed or open-architecture DSP?
Fixed DSPs such as Shure IntelliMix P300 are preconfigured for conferencing and quick to deploy. Open-architecture platforms such as Biamp Tesira and Q-SYS are programmed for any layout and scale to large systems.
How do DSPs connect to microphones and amplifiers?
Over Dante or AVB on the network, or by analog and USB. Networked audio reduces cabling and lets one processor serve several rooms.
Can a DSP control other equipment?
Platforms such as Q-SYS and Tesira include control logic and touch panel support, so smaller rooms may not need a separate control processor.
Why are sound masking controllers here?
Cambridge Sound Qt controllers generate and zone the masking signal, so they sit alongside other audio processing in the rack.
Can masking be scheduled?
Yes. Levels can follow a schedule and vary by zone.
