Product Overview
The ZeeVee Z4KDPDECF3U is a ZyPer4K SDVoE fiber decoder with HDMI 2.0 output, DisplayPort 1.3 output, and USB 2.0 extension over 10Gb multimode fiber up to 300 meters. It is the fiber, USB-equipped variant of the ZyPer4K DisplayPort decoder family, supporting KVM-over-IP deployments at display locations separated from network infrastructure by long fiber runs. The unit operates within the ZyPer Management Platform for centralized routing, video wall, and multiview management.
Product Description
The Z4KDPDECF3U combines fiber connectivity with USB 2.0 peripheral extension at the decoder endpoint, making it the complete solution for KVM-over-IP applications in campus, stadium, and multi-building AV-over-IP installations. It decodes ZyPer4K SDVoE streams received over 10Gb SFP+ multimode fiber (up to 300m) and outputs uncompressed 4KP60 4:4:4 video to HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.3 displays. The integrated USB 2.0 port allows display-side peripherals to connect back to the source workstation over the SDVoE network. ZMP provides centralized management of routing, video wall configurations (up to 15x15), and multiview layouts (up to 19 sources). HDCP 2.2 and AES-128 are standard. RS-232 (9-pin D-sub, 115.2 kbps) and IR (3.5mm) pass-through ensure control system compatibility at the display end. Power draw is approximately 9W.
Key Features
- HDMI 2.0 + DisplayPort 1.3 Output — Outputs to either display type, eliminating adapter requirements.
- USB 2.0 Extension — Enables display-side keyboard, mouse, and peripheral connection to remote source workstations.
- 10Gb Multimode Fiber (SFP+) — Reaches display locations up to 300m from the network switch.
- Uncompressed 4KP60 4:4:4 — Zero-latency, full-bandwidth 4K decode over fiber.
- Video Wall: 15x15 — Large-format video wall support via ZMP.
- Multiview: 19 Sources — Flexible multi-source display layouts managed centrally.
- HDCP 2.2 + AES-128 — End-to-end content protection and encrypted transport.
- RS-232 & IR Pass-Through — Control signal routing to display-side equipment.
- ~9W Power Consumption — Low draw for high-density fiber-based deployments.
- 3-Year Warranty — ZeeVee standard commercial coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the Z4KDPDECF3 and Z4KDPDECF3U?
- The Z4KDPDECF3U adds a single USB 2.0 port for display-side peripheral extension over the SDVoE network. All other specifications are identical to the Z4KDPDECF3.
- Does USB extension require a USB-equipped encoder at the source?
- Yes. End-to-end USB extension requires USB-capable encoders and decoders on the same ZyPer4K network. USB pass-through is managed via ZMP.
- Can this fiber decoder receive streams from a copper encoder?
- Yes. The encoder and decoder connect independently to the 10GbE switching core. Fiber decoders and copper encoders can coexist on the same ZyPer4K SDVoE network.
- What multimode fiber specifications are required?
- Standard OM3 or OM4 multimode fiber is typically used with 10Gb SFP+ transceivers. Verify specific transceiver and fiber compatibility against ZeeVee's validated hardware list.
- Is this unit suitable for distances greater than 300m?
- No. The Z4KDPDECF3U supports multimode fiber up to 300 meters. For longer distances, additional switching or signal regeneration infrastructure is required.
