Product Overview
The ZeeVee Z4KDPDECC3U is a ZyPer4K SDVoE copper decoder providing HDMI 2.0 output, DisplayPort 1.3 output, and USB 2.0 extension over a 10GbE copper network. Built for commercial AV-over-IP deployments requiring a dual-output 4K decoder with integrated KVM capability, it delivers uncompressed 4KP60 4:4:4 video to display-side equipment while extending USB peripherals from the source side. The unit integrates with the ZyPer Management Platform for centralized routing, video wall, and multiview management.
Product Description
The Z4KDPDECC3U is the USB-equipped variant of the Z4KDPDECC3, adding a single USB 2.0 port that allows keyboards, mice, and other peripherals at the display endpoint to connect back to the source workstation over the SDVoE network. This makes it a direct solution for KVM-over-IP installations where the decoder location also needs display-side peripheral input. It outputs uncompressed 4KP60 4:4:4 video to either HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.3 displays, connecting via 10Gb RJ45 or SFP+ over Cat6a copper up to 100 meters. ZMP provides routing, video wall (15x15), and multiview (19 sources) management. HDCP 2.2 and AES-128 encryption are standard. RS-232 (9-pin D-sub) and IR (3.5mm) pass-through support control system integration at the display end. Power consumption is approximately 9W per unit.
Key Features
- HDMI 2.0 + DisplayPort 1.3 Output — Connects to display-side equipment with either connector type without adapters.
- USB 2.0 Extension — Provides KVM capability by extending display-side USB peripherals back to the source over the SDVoE network.
- Uncompressed 4KP60 4:4:4 — Full-bandwidth, zero-latency 4K decode over 10GbE copper.
- Cat6a Copper to 100m — Utilizes standard enterprise copper cabling infrastructure.
- Video Wall: 15x15 — Configured centrally via ZyPer Management Platform.
- Multiview: 19 Sources — Flexible multiview layout management via ZMP.
- HDCP 2.2 + AES-128 — Content protection and encrypted network transport.
- RS-232 & IR Pass-Through — Control signal routing to display-side devices.
- ~9W Power Draw — Suitable for large-scale, high-density display deployments.
- 3-Year Warranty — ZeeVee standard commercial warranty.
Typical Applications
- KVM-over-IP installations where USB peripherals at the display need to connect to remote workstations
- Control rooms and NOCs with display-side keyboard/mouse requirements and mixed HDMI/DisplayPort monitors
- Corporate conference rooms with shared USB peripheral infrastructure
- Higher education with shared AV-over-IP and USB device routing
- Government and secure facilities requiring encrypted KVM-over-IP over existing copper infrastructure

Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the USB extension work on the decoder side?
- USB peripherals connected to the decoder's USB 2.0 port (keyboard, mouse, etc.) appear to the remote source workstation as locally connected devices, enabling KVM control from the display location over the SDVoE network.
- What is the difference between this model and the Z4KDPDECC3?
- The Z4KDPDECC3U adds a single USB 2.0 port. All video, audio, network, and control specifications are otherwise identical to the non-USB Z4KDPDECC3 model.
- Is a matching USB-equipped encoder required?
- Yes. For end-to-end USB extension, both the encoder (e.g., Z4KDPENCC3U) and decoder must have USB ports. USB pass-through is managed by ZMP.
- Can this decoder be used with fiber encoders?
- Yes. Encoder and decoder connection types (copper vs. fiber) are independent at the network level. The decoder connects to its local 10GbE switch via copper; the encoder can use fiber to reach the same switch infrastructure.
- Is the Z4KDPDECC3U available in a fiber version?
- Yes. The Z4KDPDECF3U is the fiber variant, supporting multimode fiber up to 300m at the decoder end.
