Product Overview

The Williams AV DWS INT 3 400 is a portable wireless translation system from the Digi-Wave 400 Series, configured for two presenters and twenty listeners. It is a frequent choice for bilingual church services, multilingual staff training, and court interpretation because everything — transceivers, receivers, microphones, earphones, charger, and batteries — ships in one carry case and operates license-free on encrypted 2.4 GHz digital wireless with no fixed installation.

Product Description

At the core of this translation equipment package are two DLT 400 digital transceivers, worn by interpreters or presenters with the included MIC 144 headset microphones. Twenty DLR 400 ALK receivers with EAR 022 surround earphones serve the audience, each running up to 30 hours on two AAA alkaline batteries — twenty BAT 010-2 cells come in the box. Because receivers use off-the-shelf batteries, a facilities team can keep the system running indefinitely with nothing more than a battery drawer.

How the Digi-Wave 400 translation system works in a conference setting

The Digi-Wave 400 platform is a full-duplex digital spread-spectrum system: its frequency-hopping algorithm avoids RF interference, while the digital audio path suppresses background noise and compensates for room acoustics and listener distance. In interpretation mode it carries one floor language plus up to 14 translated languages; in intercom mode up to six people talk simultaneously with unlimited listeners; in tour mode it runs one-way listen-only. That flexibility lets a single purchase cover Sunday interpretation, weekday training, and facility tours.

The two transceivers recharge in the included CHG 404 four-slot bay, and the whole system stores in the CCS 042 carry case with protective silicone skins for the transceivers. Optional 87+128-bit encryption with a secure PIN protects sensitive sessions. Browse companion assistive listening products in the Williams AV collection, or scale up to the rechargeable DWS INT 4 400 RCH system for larger deployments.

Key Features

  • Turnkey Bilingual Coverage — Two transceiver channels plus the floor feed handle bilingual services and dual-language training out of the box.
  • Noise-Reducing Digital Audio — The digital link suppresses background noise and compensates for poor room acoustics so interpreted speech stays intelligible at the back of the room.
  • 30-Hour Receiver Runtime — Each DLR 400 ALK runs up to 30 hours on two AAA alkaline batteries with an auto sleep mode to stretch life between sessions.
  • Six-Talker Intercom Mode — Switch the same hardware to full-duplex intercom with up to six simultaneous talkers for production and staff communication.
  • Transmits Through Glass and Walls — 2.4 GHz coverage reaches interpreter booths, viewing rooms, and adjacent spaces without cabling.
  • Secure Optional Encryption — 87+128-bit encryption with key code and settings lock meets confidentiality requirements for legal and government interpretation.
  • Grab-and-Go Case — The CCS 042 carry case holds the complete system for single-trip transport between rooms, campuses, or venues.
  • Legacy Interoperability — Receivers work with DLT 300 transmitters, protecting prior Digi-Wave investments during upgrades.

Typical Applications

  • House of worship
  • Training room

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one interpreter serve listeners in two different rooms?

Yes. With up to 900 feet of range and a signal that passes through glass and interior walls, a single DLT 400 can reach receivers in the main room and an overflow or viewing room simultaneously.

How do I add a third language later?

Purchase an additional DLT 400 transceiver and assign it to a new channel. The platform supports up to 14 translated languages plus floor, and existing receivers tune to new channels without any reconfiguration.

Does the audience need training to use the receivers?

No. Each DLR 400 ALK has a simple LCD showing the channel number and battery level; listeners power on, confirm the channel, and adjust volume. Most venues post the language-to-channel mapping at the door.

Is there a rechargeable version of this system?

Yes — the DWS INT 4 400 RCH uses rechargeable DLR 400 RCH receivers with 12-bay charging cases for teams that prefer drop-in charging over battery swaps.

How does the system handle RF interference at busy venues?

Frequency-hopping spread-spectrum continuously moves the signal across 2402–2476 MHz, avoiding collisions with Wi-Fi and other 2.4 GHz devices without manual frequency coordination.

What is the warranty?

Williams AV warrants the system for 2 years against component failure and manufacturing defects, with 90-day coverage on cables and power supplies. Creation Networks provides ongoing commercial support.
