The Williams AV MIC 188 is a dual-muff, hard-hat headset microphone designed exclusively for the Digi-Wave DLT 400 transceiver. Purpose-built for industrial guided tours and plant communication, it mounts to a hard hat and combines a noise-cancelling electret boom microphone with circumaural gel-cushion ear cups. It is the headset AV integrators specify when Digi-Wave tour and intercom systems must operate on manufacturing floors and other PPE-required environments.

Standard headsets cannot be worn with a hard hat, which leaves a gap in many industrial Digi-Wave deployments. The MIC 188 closes that gap with a hard-hat-mount design that keeps both communication and head protection in place, so tour leaders, trainers, and plant staff stay compliant with site safety requirements while talking and listening over the Digi-Wave 400 Series system.

The noise-cancelling electret element is tuned for voice in loud surroundings, with 680 Ω impedance at 1 kHz, a 58 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and -47 dB sensitivity. The headphone side uses 32 Ω drivers rated for 60–100 mW input with a 250 Hz – 4,000 Hz response focused on the speech band, which keeps spoken instructions intelligible over machinery noise. Soft circumaural gel ear cushions seal around the ears for passive isolation and remain comfortable across full shifts. A single 3.5 mm TRRS plug with 360-degree strain relief connects directly to the DLT 400 transceiver headset jack with no adapters required.
