The Williams AV MIC 044 2P is a noise-canceling headset microphone with separate 3.5 mm microphone and headset plugs, purpose-built for the IC-2 interpreter console. The dual-plug configuration lets interpreters monitor program audio in the earpiece while speaking into the noise-canceling cardioid condenser capsule — a standard requirement in simultaneous interpretation workflows. Simultaneous interpretation requires the interpreter to listen and talk at the same time, and the MIC 044 2P is wired for exactly that: one 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) mono plug carries the microphone signal to the console input while a second 1/8-inch plug feeds program audio to the integrated earpiece. This makes it a direct-connect headset for the Williams AV IC-2 interpreter console, and it remains compatible with the legacy IC-1 console still found in many installed systems.

The noise-canceling electret condenser capsule maintains voice clarity in interpretation booths, courtrooms, and conference environments where multiple interpreters work in close proximity. Because the headset positions the capsule at a fixed distance from the mouth, output level stays consistent without an operator riding gain. A windscreen is included, and the replaceable WND 008 windscreen and EAR 035 earpad keep the unit serviceable over its working life.
