Product Overview
The Williams AV IR SY2 is a small-area infrared assistive listening system configured for two listeners, covering up to 1,300 square feet for private TV listening and hearing assistance in small conference rooms, hospital rooms, assisted living facilities, and jury deliberation rooms. The kit pairs the compact IR T1 two-channel infrared transmitter with two WIR RX22-4N four-channel bodypack receivers, heavy-duty headphones, an induction neckloop for T-coil hearing aids, and a two-bay rechargeable battery workflow. Because infrared audio stays inside the room, the IR SY2 is well suited to facilities where privacy and channel containment matter.
Product Description
The IR T1 transmitter combines the infrared modulator and emitter in one small enclosure, so setup is genuinely plug-and-play: connect any line-level stereo source to the 3.5mm input jack, power the unit from the included TFP 055 power supply or directly from a TV's USB port via the included WCA 106 micro-USB cable, and transmission begins automatically when audio is present. The included WCA 124 adapter cable connects TVs with RCA stereo outputs, and the STD 008 flat-panel TV mounting bracket positions the transmitter on top of a display without tools or wall penetrations. Operating frequencies of 2.3 and 2.8 MHz minimize interference from high-efficiency lighting, and a sleep mode shuts off the carrier after 12 minutes without audio.
Each WIR RX22-4N bodypack receiver provides four selectable channels, dual infrared detectors for sensitivity and range, and simple on/off/volume controls. One listener can use the HED 027 heavy-duty folding headphones while a second uses the NKL 001 induction neckloop to couple audio directly to a T-coil hearing aid or cochlear implant. The CHG 3502 two-bay charger recharges the included BAT 026-2 NiMH batteries inside the docked receivers, so the system stays ready without battery swaps. No FCC license is required, and identical systems can run in adjacent rooms without crosstalk.
For single-listener rooms, see the Williams AV IR SY1 kit, or browse the full Williams AV collection for additional receivers and accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the IR SY2 kit?
The kit includes the IR T1 transmitter, TFP 055 power supply, WCA 106 6-foot micro-USB cable, WCA 124 RCA adapter cable, two WIR RX22-4N infrared receivers, an STD 008 flat-panel TV mounting bracket, HED 027 heavy-duty folding headphones, an NKL 001 neckloop, a CHG 3502 two-bay bodypack charger, and BAT 026-2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.
How do I connect the system to a TV?
Connect the TV's headphone or line output to the IR T1's 3.5mm stereo input, or use the included WCA 124 adapter for TVs with RCA stereo outputs. The transmitter can even draw power from the TV's USB port using the included cable.
Does the IR SY2 work with hearing aids?
Yes. The included NKL 001 induction neckloop magnetically couples receiver audio to any T-coil (telecoil) equipped hearing aid or cochlear implant.
Can I run two of these systems in adjacent rooms?
Yes. Infrared signals do not pass through walls, so identical systems can operate side by side without interference — useful in hospitals, courthouses, and assisted living facilities.
How are the receivers recharged?
Dock both receivers in the CHG 3502 two-bay charger with the NiMH batteries installed. Charging takes about 16 hours and the receivers can remain docked safely after charging completes.
Is any licensing required to operate the system?
No. Infrared assistive listening systems require no FCC license or radio approval and can be used anywhere in the world.
