The Williams AV FM R37 is a body-pack FM assistive listening receiver supplied with an EAR 022 surround earphone and AA alkaline batteries, ready to hand to a listener the moment it leaves the box. Seek-button channel selection gives access to all 17 preset wideband frequencies in the 72–76 MHz band reserved for hearing assistance under the ADA, and the receiver is compatible with every Williams Sound 72–76 MHz wideband transmitter. It is the standard fleet receiver for auditoriums, houses of worship, and conference facilities expanding an existing FM assistive listening system.

Product Description

The R37's audio is digitally synthesized for clear, stable reception across all 17 channels. Channel selection is made with a seek button inside the battery compartment, and a channel-lock capability prevents listeners from accidentally changing channels mid-event — a practical detail for venues that loan receivers to the public. A combination volume control and power on/off dial keeps operation simple, while a green LED indicates power, battery, and system status, flashing on low battery.

The 3.5 mm stereo/mono output jack accepts a wide range of earphones, headphones, and neckloops, making the receiver compatible with telecoil-equipped hearing aids when paired with a neckloop such as the NKL 001. The included EAR 022 surround earphone delivers 118 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz with a 23 mm driver. Housed in impact-resistant PC/ABS plastic with a hinged battery door and detachable belt clip, the receiver is built for fleet duty.

Power flexibility is built in: a slide switch in the battery compartment selects disposable alkaline or NiMH rechargeable operation, and charging contacts on the base work with Williams Sound CHG 3502 and CHG 3512 drop-in chargers. Expect approximately 50 hours per pair of AA alkaline cells or 32 hours on NiMH rechargeables. A battery-saving sleep mode extends runtime further.
