The Williams AV EXT-USB-4Port is a 4-port USB line driver that extends the distance between a touchscreen input device and a Pointmaker annotation system by up to 60 feet. Using a standard RJ45 cable (sold separately), the unit enables keyboard, tablet, or mouse inputs to reach the annotation system from across a room, eliminating the need for long USB cable runs or proximity mounting. It is a direct accessory for Williams AV Pointmaker annotation systems.
Product Description
Pointmaker annotation systems require USB input devices—typically a keyboard, tablet, or mouse—to operate the touchscreen overlay interface. When the presenter position or input device location is more than standard USB cable range from the system rack or mount, the EXT-USB-4Port provides the extension infrastructure. The unit uses RJ45 cabling to extend four USB 3.0-compatible ports up to 60 feet from the host system, using software drivers to maintain device recognition and input fidelity over the extended run. The four USB Type-A ports on the remote end accommodate multiple simultaneous input devices. Installation requires a separately purchased RJ45 cable run between the EXT-USB-4Port unit and the Pointmaker system. This is a targeted accessory for Williams AV Pointmaker installations where the control position is not adjacent to the system hardware.
