Product Overview
The Williams AV PLW 014 is induction loop wire for building the perimeter loop of a hearing-loop system. It gives installers the conductor that radiates the magnetic field a telecoil hearing aid receives, and is intended for use with Williams AV loop amplifiers designed to help meet IEC 60118-4.
Product Description
The PLW 014 is loop wire run around the perimeter of a room (or as a phased array) and driven by a hearing-loop amplifier to create the magnetic field patrons' hearing aids pick up on the T-setting. Correct wire selection is part of achieving compliant, even field strength, so this conductor is matched to Williams AV loop drivers. Pair it with an amplifier such as the DL107 or DL210 and protective loop tape.
Key Features
- Perimeter loop conductor — Radiates the field for telecoil pickup.
- Amplifier-matched — Made for Williams AV loop drivers.
- Compliance role — Supports even field strength per IEC 60118-4 design.
Typical Applications
- Room-perimeter hearing loops in worship, court, and meeting spaces

Frequently Asked Questions
What is loop wire for?
It forms the loop the amplifier drives to create the magnetic field hearing aids receive.
Which amplifier does it pair with?
Williams AV hearing-loop drivers such as the DL107 and DL210 families.
How much wire is needed?
It depends on room size and loop design; a site plan determines the run.
Does wire choice affect compliance?
Yes; correct wire helps achieve even field strength under IEC 60118-4.
Is protective tape needed?
For floor runs, loop warning tape such as the FWT 001 protects the wire.
