Product Overview
The Williams AV IR T3-00 is a commercial-grade infrared transmitter for secure, room-contained assistive listening and language interpretation. As the core of a medium-area infrared assistive listening system, it broadcasts audio on up to two channels within a single room, making it well suited to courtrooms, boardrooms, and government spaces where signal must not pass through walls. The transmitter supports Power over Ethernet for simplified installation and integrates into rack-mounted AV systems with line-level and microphone inputs.
Product Description
The IR T3-00 (SoundPlus T3) is a medium-area infrared transmitter designed for confidential, contained audio distribution in commercial AV installations. Because infrared light does not travel through walls, it is the preferred assistive listening technology for courtrooms, sensitive government meeting spaces, and multi-room facilities where channel privacy and RF containment matter. The transmitter operates in two-channel mode on 2.3 and 2.8 MHz (or 3.3 and 3.8 MHz) or in single-channel mode, allowing designers to deliver dual-language interpretation or a single assistive-listening feed. Coverage reaches up to 32,000 ft2 with a WIR RX22-4 receiver in single-channel mode when paired with the appropriate infrared emitters. Each channel provides a line-level Phoenix-style input with an audio-level LED, plus a 3.5 mm microphone input with gain control. A universal 48 VDC power supply (100-240 VAC, 18 W) and optional PoE support give integrators flexible power and cabling options, and RS-232 monitoring supports third-party control systems. The IR T3-00 pairs with Williams AV infrared emitters and WIR RX22 receivers to complete a room system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose infrared over RF or Wi-Fi for this room?
Infrared light does not pass through walls, so it keeps audio contained and private — the standard choice for courtrooms and confidential government meetings.
How many channels does it support?
It runs two channels (for example, dual-language interpretation) or a single channel for one assistive-listening feed.
Can it be powered over the network?
Yes. It supports optional PoE in addition to the included 48 VDC universal power supply.
What receivers and emitters does it require?
Pair the IR T3-00 with Williams AV infrared emitters and WIR RX22 series receivers sized to the room's coverage area.
Does it integrate with a control system?
Yes. RS-232 monitoring and control allow integration with third-party AV control platforms.
What warranty applies?
The transmitter carries a two-year parts-and-labor warranty; Creation Networks can assist with system design and integration.
