Product Overview
The Sonance Flexframe-VX8 is the rough-in mounting frame used at the start of Sonance's two-stage installation process for 8-inch VX in-ceiling and in-wall speaker locations. It is installed and wired before drywall, with the finished speaker module added later in the project.
Product Description
Two-stage installation is built around separating rough-in and finish work: the Flexframe-VX8 goes in during framing and wiring so drywall, paint, and other trades can proceed without waiting for finished speaker hardware to arrive, and the corresponding VX82 or VX86 module is snapped in once finishes are underway. This is particularly useful on new-construction Sonance projects or large multi-room jobs where scheduling speaker delivery around every trade is impractical. The frame is compatible with the 8-inch round and rectangle VX module family, supporting whichever grille finish (micro trim, trimless, or TRUFIG) is chosen later in the project. Because it is a rough-in component only, it should be ordered together with the appropriate finish-stage module and grille rather than as a standalone acoustic product. Integrators planning a phased install can review compatible modules in the in-ceiling speaker and in-wall speaker ranges.
