The Vaddio 440-1005-025 is a 30m (98.4 ft) fully shielded active USB 3.0 cable with USB-A to USB-B connectors. Unlike the active optical cables in the Vaddio lineup, this is an active copper cable with three internal repeater hubs and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. Product Description
Active USB cables use built-in signal amplification to extend USB signals beyond the 15 ft (5m) limit of passive copper cables. The 440-1005-025 uses three internal repeater hubs to extend USB 3.0 at full bandwidth over 30m. Its backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 provides flexibility in BYOD environments where host computers may have varying USB port generations. The fully shielded design minimizes interference in electrically noisy AV environments.
The cable is port-powered from the USB host port — no separate power supply or outlet at the cable midpoint is needed. This simplifies routing and installation in conference rooms and training spaces.
