The Vaddio 440-1005-020 USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable uses active signal-boosting circuitry to extend USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480 Mbps) connectivity beyond the 5-meter passive USB 2.0 limit. This is important in conference room installations where the camera is mounted at the far end of the room and the host PC or codec is at the table or in a rack, requiring longer cable runs than passive USB allows.
