Product Overview
The Vaddio USB 2.0 Extenders (999-1005-052) extend high-bandwidth USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 signals over Cat-5e or better cable up to 328 ft (100m). The complete system includes a transmit (TX) unit at the device side and a receive (RX) unit at the host PC side, allowing USB 2.0 cameras or AV sources to be installed far from the connected computer. Up to 30 USB devices are supported simultaneously. Compatible with Windows 7, Windows 10, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. Plenum-rated cabling solution.
Product Description
USB 2.0 Extenders solve installations where a USB camera or other AV device cannot be located near the host computer. The TX unit connects to the USB device, the RX unit connects to the host PC, and a single Cat-5e or better cable carries USB signals between them at full USB 2.0 high-speed bandwidth. No driver is required — the system is transparent to the operating system.
The 328 ft (100m) maximum extension distance covers virtually all conference room, lecture hall, and auditorium installations. Up to 30 USB devices can be connected through the TX unit simultaneously. The system is plenum-rated for installation in air-handling ceiling spaces.
