The Vaddio 999-1005-010 PTZ Camera Control Cable is a 10-foot (approximately 3 m) cable with a Mini-DIN 8-pin connector on one end and a DB-9 (DE-9) RS-232 connector on the other. It bridges the Mini-DIN 8 serial control port found on Vaddio PTZ cameras and compatible legacy AV cameras to the DB-9 RS-232 port found on control system processors, AMX and Crestron control cards, room automation devices, and legacy PC serial ports. The cable carries RS-232 serial control data for PTZ pan, tilt, zoom, and preset commands issued by the control system. At 10 feet, it provides enough slack to route cleanly from a camera mount or wall plate to a nearby control system interface. This is the standard control cable for Vaddio PTZ camera installations requiring direct RS-232 serial connection to a third-party control system.
