What is the Uniguest 798?
The Uniguest 798 is an HD HDMI H.264 encoder blade for Uniguest MediaStar IPTV systems, with optional HDCP Pro content protection for redistributing protected content across a secure IP network.
How does the Uniguest 798 work?
The 798 takes an HDMI source, such as a cable or satellite set-top box, and streams H.264 video with AAC audio at up to 1080p60 to Uniguest 782 and 780 media players and to PCs through MediaStar Portal pages. The 798-HDCP model supports HDCP Pro, so licensed protected content can be shared legally to an unlimited number of HDCP Pro players. A dual-stream HLS mode can also serve up to 50 iOS or Android viewers at once. The blade is powered from a Uniguest 770 or 769 chassis.
