Product Overview
The tvONE C2-2855 is a high-performance universal scaler and format converter built on tvONE's CORIO2 processing engine, designed for AV integrators who need reliable up/down/cross conversion across SD/HD/3G-SDI, HDMI, DVI, composite, YC, and component analog formats in a compact desktop or optional rack-mount enclosure. It supports virtually all digital and analog video standards on both inputs and outputs, with an integral 4x1 stereo audio routing switcher, embedded audio support, and advanced features including PIP, Genlock, Framelock, Chromakey, Lumakey, and seamless transitions. The OLED display and intuitive button layout simplify on-unit setup, while IP and RS-232 interfaces enable third-party control system integration.
Product Description

The C2-2855 accepts SD/HD/3G-SDI, HDMI, DVI-U, composite (CV), YC, YUV, and YPbPr/RGB on its inputs and provides the same range on its outputs, making it one of the most versatile format-conversion tools in the CORIO2 lineup. The CORIO2 engine delivers 4:4:4 full bandwidth chroma sampling for RGB sources and 4:2:2 for SDI, YC, and CV sources, with HDMI YUV supporting either 4:4:4 or 4:2:2. Temporal interpolation, motion compensation, diagonal interpolation, and 3:2 pulldown ensure high-quality frame-rate conversion and de-interlacing for NTSC and PAL sources. The auto-switching function scans connected inputs and selects the active source automatically, which is practical for presentation environments with intermittent sources. An integral 4x1 stereo analog audio routing switcher follows the active video input, with audio embedding on HDMI, DVI-U, and SDI outputs. The OLED display provides intuitive menu navigation with color-modulated backlit buttons, while a graphical Windows software interface allows remote setup and control via IP or RS-232. The unit ships in a desktop enclosure with an optional 19-inch rackmount kit for single or dual units. Variable zoom to 10x and shrink to 10%, image freeze, logo insertion, borders, and ten user-defined presets round out the feature set.
Key Features
- Universal Format Support — Inputs and outputs cover SD/HD/3G-SDI, HDMI, DVI-U, composite, YC, YUV, and YPbPr/RGB, making the C2-2855 a single-box solution for virtually any format conversion requirement.
- CORIO2 Processing Engine — 4:4:4 full bandwidth chroma sampling for RGB sources; 4:2:2 for SDI and analog video; HDMI YUV supports 4:4:4 or 4:2:2.
- Auto-Switching — Automatically detects and selects an active input, removing the need for manual source selection in huddle spaces, classrooms, or unattended deployments.
- Integral 4x1 Audio Router — Stereo analog audio routing follows the active video input and embeds audio on HDMI, DVI-U, and SDI outputs simultaneously.
- Temporal Interpolation and 3:2 Pulldown — Frame-rate conversion and film-mode extraction ensure smooth, accurate output when converting between 24, 25, and 30/60 fps sources.
- PIP, Chromakey, and Lumakey — Picture-in-picture with freely positionable window, plus Chromakey and Lumakey compositing for on-screen graphics overlay.
- Genlock and Framelock — Synchronizes output to an external reference for integration into genlocked broadcast or AV distribution systems.
- OLED Display with Backlit Buttons — Color-modulated OLED display and intuitive button interface simplify on-unit configuration without a connected PC.
- HDMI and DVI: PC to 1920x1200 / HDTV to 1080p/60 — Full HD output resolution support covers all modern display types.
- IP and RS-232 Control — Ethernet and serial interfaces allow integration with AMX, Crestron, and other control systems using the published API.
- Optional Single/Dual Rackmount Kit — Converts the desktop enclosure to 19-inch rack installation; two units fit in a single 1RU bracket.
Typical Applications
- Conference rooms and boardrooms requiring multi-format input scaling to a single display
- Broadcast facilities requiring SDI-to-HDMI/DVI conversion with audio handling
- House of worship video systems converting between SDI camera feeds and HDMI presentation displays
- University and corporate training rooms with mixed legacy and modern AV sources
- Live event staging requiring format conversion between analog, SDI, and HDMI sources

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the C2-2855 convert 3G-SDI to HDMI with embedded audio?
Yes. The unit accepts 3G-SDI input and outputs HDMI (via DVI-U with HDCP 1.4). Embedded audio from the SDI input is de-embedded and re-embedded on the HDMI/DVI-U output through the integral audio routing switcher.
Does the C2-2855 support auto-switching between inputs?
Yes. The auto-switching function scans all connected inputs and automatically selects the first active source detected. Manual input selection overrides auto-switching, and the feature does not trigger if an input is already in use. Firmware must be current to enable this feature.
What rackmount options are available?
An optional 19-inch rackmount kit is available that holds one or two C2-2855 units in a single 1RU bracket. The kit is ordered separately. Contact Creation Networks at creationnetworks.net for availability.
Is the C2-2855 compatible with Crestron and AMX control systems?
Yes. RS-232 and IP (Ethernet) interfaces with a published API make the C2-2855 compatible with Crestron, AMX, and other third-party control systems. Windows software for PC-based configuration is included.
What is the maximum output resolution?
HDMI and DVI output supports PC resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDTV resolutions up to 1080p at 60 Hz. Analog output supports PC resolutions up to 1920x1080 and HDTV to 1080p/60.
Does the unit support Genlock for broadcast integration?
Yes. Genlock and Framelock are supported, allowing the C2-2855 to synchronize its output to an external reference signal for integration into genlocked broadcast or AV distribution systems.
