Product Overview
The Tripp Lite SMART3000RMXLN SmartPro 3000VA 2880W line-interactive UPS delivers network-grade power protection for critical servers, network equipment, and telecommunications infrastructure in data centers and commercial IT environments. Built-in Auto-Voltage Regulation (AVR) actively corrects brownouts down to 83V and overvoltages up to 145V, maintaining 120V nominal output without drawing on battery power, which extends battery life and reduces operating costs. A pre-installed WEBCARDLX network management card enables full remote SNMP-based monitoring and management without additional hardware. The unit installs in 2U of standard rack space and also supports tower deployment.
Product Description
The SMART3000RMXLN uses line-interactive topology with a 0.96 power factor, providing pure sine wave output at 96% line-mode efficiency. This efficiency level reduces heat generation and lowers energy costs in environments with continuous operation. Two separate AVR boost levels correct both slight undervoltages and severe brownout conditions, making this UPS particularly effective in environments with chronically poor power quality.
The interactive LCD display panel reports real-time UPS operating mode, load levels, battery status, and detailed site power data. The panel rotates for viewing in either rack-mount or tower configurations. Super-fast switchover from line to battery power occurs within milliseconds, preventing connected equipment from experiencing interruptions or requiring a reboot during a power transition.
Network management is provided through the pre-installed WEBCARDLX card, accessible via HTML5 web browser (no Java required), SNMP, Telnet, and SSH. Supported protocols include HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMPv1/v2/v3, Telnet, SSH, FTP, DHCP, and NTP. Local management is also supported via USB and DB9 serial ports, with HID-compliant USB integration for Windows and macOS auto-shutdown features. Free PowerAlert UPS monitoring software is available for download. Field-replaceable, hot-swappable battery modules minimize downtime during battery replacement. An Emergency Power Off (EPO) interface supports integration with facility power management systems.
Key Features
- 3000VA / 2880W Line-Interactive UPS — Delivers high-capacity power protection in a 2U rack/tower form factor with a 0.96 power factor and pure sine wave output, suitable for demanding server room loads.
- Auto-Voltage Regulation (AVR) — Actively corrects brownouts (down to 83V) and overvoltages (up to 145V) to maintain 120V nominal output without switching to battery, preserving battery life for actual power failures.
- Pre-Installed WEBCARDLX Network Management Card — Provides remote SNMP-based monitoring, configuration, and control via HTML5 web browser, Telnet, or SSH, with email notifications for power events.
- 96% Line-Mode Efficiency — Reduces heat output and operating costs compared to lower-efficiency UPS designs, contributing to lower total cost of ownership in continuous-operation environments.
- Pure Sine Wave Output — Provides clean, stable sine wave power compatible with all server and network equipment, including active power factor correction (PFC) power supplies.
- Hot-Swappable Battery Modules — Field-replaceable batteries can be swapped without powering down connected equipment, eliminating maintenance downtime for battery replacement.
- Switchable Output Load Banks — Two independently switchable output banks enable real-time remote reboot, load shedding, and scheduled outlet control from the WEBCARDLX interface.
- Emergency Power Off (EPO) Interface — Integrates with facility-level power management and emergency shutdown systems for compliance with data center safety requirements.
- Interactive LCD Display — Rotatable panel reports UPS mode, load, battery status, and site power data; also enables advanced UPS configuration without a separate management computer.
- Expandable Runtime — Compatible with external battery packs for extended runtime, allowing the UPS to support longer outages without replacing the main unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between line-interactive and double-conversion UPS technology?
- A line-interactive UPS like the SMART3000RMXLN uses AVR to correct voltage fluctuations while staying on line power, switching to battery only during actual power failures. This approach is more efficient (96%) than double-conversion but does involve a brief transfer time (milliseconds) to battery. Double-conversion UPS units provide zero transfer time but typically operate at lower efficiency. Line-interactive is appropriate for most server and network applications; double-conversion is recommended for ultra-sensitive loads with zero tolerance for any transfer.
- Does the SMART3000RMXLN include a network management card?
- Yes. The WEBCARDLX network management card is pre-installed. It provides full remote UPS monitoring and control via HTML5 web browser, SNMP, Telnet, and SSH, with email notifications for power events, load changes, and battery status.
- Can batteries be replaced without shutting down connected equipment?
- Yes. The SMART3000RMXLN uses field-replaceable, hot-swappable battery modules. Batteries can be replaced while the UPS continues to protect connected equipment, eliminating scheduled maintenance downtime.
- What outlets and input connections does this UPS provide?
- The SMART3000RMXLN has a NEMA L5-30P input plug and provides 8 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets plus 1 L5-30R outlet. The 8 NEMA 5-15/20R outlets are divided into 2 independently switchable load banks for outlet-level control.
- Can I use this UPS with my macOS or Windows server for automatic shutdown?
- Yes. The HID-compliant USB port integrates with the built-in power management and auto-shutdown features of Windows and macOS, enabling automatic graceful shutdown during extended power outages. The free PowerAlert software provides additional monitoring and control options.
- Does this UPS support an emergency power off function?
- Yes. The SMART3000RMXLN includes an EPO (Emergency Power Off) interface port for integration with facility-level emergency shutdown systems, which is commonly required in data center and commercial building deployments.
