Product Overview
The TOA RS-170 is an outdoor vandal-resistant sub-station for the N-8000 Series IP Intercom System. With a heavy-duty stainless steel faceplate, weather-resistant circuit board coating, and an operating temperature range of −10 °C to +50 °C, the RS-170 withstands the conditions found at building entries, parking structures, and outdoor access points.
Product Description
The RS-170 uses 2-core shielded cable, offering transmission distances up to 1.3 km with 0.9 mm (AWG 19) wire — practical for campus perimeters and large facilities. A 4 cm cone-type speaker delivers 1 W audio output at 625 Ω, and half-duplex conversation with any registered master station is initiated by the metal call button. Circuit boards receive a conformal coating to handle moisture. Mounting hardware for both No. 6-32 UNC and M4 × 25 screws is included, accommodating standard 2-gang flush-mount boxes. Optional wall-mount boxes YC-822 (indoor) and YC-823 (outdoor) provide surface-mount options.
