TOA VM-3240VA AMQ voice evacuation system amplifier, front panel

Product Overview

The TOA VM-3240VA is a 240 W voice evacuation system amplifier built for life-safety paging and emergency notification in commercial and institutional buildings. As the core unit of the VM-3000 Series, it is listed to both UL 2572 and CAN/ULC-S576, combining a UL 2572 voice evacuation amplifier, continuous speaker-line monitoring, and everyday 70V/100V PA and background music in one rack-mount chassis. It supports up to 60 assignable speaker zone outputs and a combination of up to four fireman's and remote microphones, making it a practical commercial emergency paging amplifier for integrators standardizing on a single platform for mass notification and routine announcements.

Product Description

The VM-3240VA is a digitally processed and digitally controlled voice alarm system amplifier that an AV system designer can configure directly from the front-panel controls and LCD display, or over a network using the dedicated PC configuration software via 10/100BASE-TX. It accepts up to 13 mic/line inputs, including three combination XLR/phone-jack channels and a removable terminal-block channel, plus two unbalanced RCA BGM sources, so a single rack-mount amplifier can serve paging, background music, and emergency messaging from one point. Its built-in voice alarm message and continuous speaker line monitoring run without interrupting program audio, and complete fault detection and indication give facilities and life-safety teams clear status at the panel. Six speaker outputs allow zoned distribution on 70V/100V lines, with speaker outputs 1–2 rated to 240 W each and outputs 3–6 to 120 W each within a 240 W total, and a 500 Ω minimum load supports reliable speaker-line failure detection. The unit links to RM-300MF/RM-200M remote and fireman's microphones over CAT5-STP at distances up to 800 m, and integrates with VX-2000DS emergency power for standby operation during AC loss. For commercial deployment, the VM-3240VA can expand with VM-3240E or VM-3360E extension amplifiers and VP-2241/VP-2421 external power amplifiers, giving integrators a scalable path as zone counts grow. This combination of mass-notification compliance and routine 70V/100V PA makes it well suited to government space, house of worship, auditorium, and multi-purpose room installations that require both emergency voice evacuation and day-to-day paging.
