It carries the speaker load on the structural ceiling rails instead of the acoustic tile, meeting common commercial installation codes. The bridge is a standard accessory for distributed ceiling sound in offices, retail, and education spaces.
Product Description
The LBS8-R1-AM tile bridge spans the ceiling grid rails to provide a secure mounting point for a TOA ceiling speaker and its back can. Transferring weight to the structural T-bars keeps the install safe, serviceable, and compliant with mechanical and life-safety codes that prohibit resting equipment on ceiling tile. Integrators fit the bridge during rough-in so the speaker sits centered and flush in the tile. It works with standard TOA ceiling speaker mounting hardware and back cans. The bridge is a mounting component only and does not include a speaker. Using the matched support member also speeds final trim-out and inspection.
