Overview
The TOA AV-60S-AM is a 60 W single-channel Class-D micro amplifier designed for concealed installation in plenum air-handling spaces without an external power adapter. UL 2043-tested and Energy Star 3.0-certified, it fits in boardrooms, conference rooms, and AV signage installations where a full-size rack amplifier would be impractical.
Description
The AV-60S-AM's compact metal chassis (150 × 44 × 156 mm, 1.12 kg) enables flush installation inside ceilings or walls — directly in the air handling space — simplifying wiring and eliminating the need for a dedicated equipment room. A switching power supply accepts 100–240 V AC worldwide, and the Energy Star-rated automatic power save function reduces consumption to under 1 W in standby. Three line inputs are provided: a transformer-balanced terminal block (Line 1), a 3.5 mm stereo jack (Line 2), and RCA jacks (Line 3), each with selectable −10/−20 dBm sensitivity. Output switches between 70 V (for 70V distributed speaker lines) and 4 Ω (for direct-drive applications). Bass and treble tone controls, a remote volume control port, and clip limiting complete the feature set.

Does the AV-60S-AM require an external AC adapter?
No. The AV-60S-AM has a built-in switching power supply that accepts 100–240 V AC directly, eliminating the need for a separate adapter or power conditioner.
What does UL 2043 plenum rating mean for installation?
UL 2043 certification means the AV-60S-AM can be installed directly in air-handling spaces (plenum ceilings) without a separate rated enclosure. This is required by fire code in many commercial building jurisdictions.
Can it drive 70V distributed speaker lines?
Yes. The output switch selects between 70V constant-voltage mode for transformer-tapped distributed speakers and 4Ω direct-drive mode. It is not rated for 100V operation.
How does the remote volume control port work?
Connect a standard 10 kΩ potentiometer to the remote volume port to provide wall-panel or desktop level control without accessing the amplifier directly.
