Product Overview
The TOA SR-C8L is a long-throw 2-way line array speaker engineered for high speech intelligibility in large, reverberant commercial spaces. Built around Sync-Drive wave-front control technology, this long-throw line array speaker projects uniform sound pressure with minimal interference across long distances, making it a strong fit for auditoriums, houses of worship, and large multi-purpose rooms. It can be driven in single-amplifier or bi-amplifier mode and is designed to pair with the TOA DP-SP3 digital speaker processor.
Product Description
The SR-C8L combines a 20 cm (8") low-frequency cone driver with a wave-front control horn and two compression drivers to produce a tightly controlled 110° horizontal by 5° vertical dispersion pattern. The narrow vertical coverage concentrates high-frequency energy on the audience rather than reflective ceilings and walls, which improves clarity in spaces with long reverberation times. Phase wave-front control keeps the high-frequency response attenuation-free and consistent as multiple cabinets are arrayed together.

Coverage can be tailored by joining several SR-C8L cabinets or combining them with the wider-dispersion SR-C8S, while the internal connection can be reconfigured for bi-amplifier operation. Drivers are serviceable from the rear of the enclosure to simplify maintenance once the speaker is installed. For low-frequency extension, pair the array with the matching TOA SR-C15B subwoofer, and compare it with the short-throw SR-C8S when wider coverage is required.
Key Features
- Sync-Drive wave-front control — Produces a uniform high-frequency sound field with high clarity and minimal interference between coupled cabinets.
- Long-throw coverage — A narrow 110° × 5° dispersion pattern focuses sound on the audience for intelligible speech in reverberant rooms.
- Single or bi-amp operation — The internal connection can be changed to convert the speaker to a bi-amplifier drive system.
- Array-ready design — Multiple cabinets and mixed dispersion angles can be combined to shape coverage for a specific venue.
- Rear-serviceable drivers — Components can be replaced from the rear of the enclosure to reduce downtime after installation.
- Flexible connectivity — M4 screw terminals and two Neutrik NL4 connectors support both permanent installation and portable use.
- DP-SP3 optimization — Recommended tuning parameters are available for the optional TOA DP-SP3 digital speaker processor.
Typical Applications
- Auditorium
- House of worship

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the SR-C8L require an external processor?
TOA recommends the DP-SP3 digital speaker processor, which provides the tuning parameters used to achieve the rated frequency response and crossover performance.
Can the SR-C8L be bi-amplified?
Yes. The speaker ships for single-amplifier operation and can be converted to a bi-amplifier drive system by changing the internal connection.
How do I extend low-frequency output?
The SR-C8L is designed to work with the TOA SR-C15B subwoofer for full-range reinforcement in larger rooms.
What rigging hardware is available?
Optional SR-CL8 cluster bracket, SR-RF8 rigging frame, and SR-TP8 tilt joint bracket support suspended and arrayed installations.
Is it suitable for reverberant rooms?
Yes. The narrow vertical dispersion concentrates sound on listeners and reduces reflections, which improves intelligibility in gymnasiums, worship spaces, and auditoriums.
How do I connect multiple cabinets?
Each cabinet provides M4 screw terminals and two Neutrik NL4 connectors, allowing cabinets to be linked and arrayed for wider or longer coverage.
