The TOA AN-001T is a 2-channel ambient noise controller module for the TOA 9000M2 and M-9000M2 CU Digital Matrix Mixer/Amplifier Series. It automatically adjusts system output gain in response to changing ambient noise levels — maintaining consistent speech intelligibility and appropriate volume in dynamic acoustic environments such as open offices, transit facilities, commercial lobbies, and multi-purpose venues.

The AN-001T accepts input from up to two ambient noise sensing microphones — such as the optional TOA AN-9001 ceiling-mount mic — and uses 24-bit A/D sampling at 48 kHz to continuously evaluate room noise level. It then automatically adjusts the host amplifier's output gain within configurable min/max boundaries (–18 to –3 dB minimum; –15 to 0 dB maximum) using one of 14 selectable gain ratio presets, over a user-defined sample interval from 10 seconds to 5 minutes. Each of the two input channels can be independently assigned to control specific amplifier output zones, enabling zone-specific automatic volume management. Phantom power (+24 VDC) is provided on each input for condenser microphone use. A maximum of two AN-001T modules may be installed per amplifier chassis.
