Product Overview
The Televic CoCon Redundancy license provides automatic failover capability for mission-critical Plixus conference installations. When the active Plixus Engine or CoCon Room Server becomes unavailable, a pre-configured spare unit takes over automatically—keeping the meeting running without operator intervention. An ePowerSwitch4 is included to manage the automatic power-on sequence of the standby engine. CoCon Redundancy is appropriate for government chambers, parliamentary halls, and high-stakes commercial meeting environments where an unplanned system interruption is not acceptable. This license is required for any Plixus installation where continuous system availability must be guaranteed.
Product Description

CoCon Redundancy is a software license that activates automatic engine failover within the CoCon meeting management framework. In a redundant Plixus installation, a spare Plixus Engine and spare CoCon Room Server are installed alongside the primary units. If the primary engine or server becomes inactive—due to hardware failure, power interruption, or other system fault—the standby unit assumes control automatically. The ePowerSwitch4 included with this license manages the power sequence, bringing the spare engine online without manual intervention. In parallel, Plixus network topology supports cable-level redundancy by forming loop configurations: if a cable or network device on one side of the loop fails, system traffic re-routes through the alternate path, maintaining delegate unit connectivity. Together, these mechanisms provide layered redundancy at both the engine and network levels for the most demanding conference deployment requirements.
Key Features
- Automatic Engine Failover — Spare Plixus Engine takes over automatically if the primary engine becomes inactive; no manual switchover required.
- CoCon Room Server Failover — Spare CoCon Room Server activates automatically upon primary server failure, maintaining meeting control continuity.
- ePowerSwitch4 Included — Dedicated power management device automates the startup sequence of the standby engine on failover.
- Network Loop Redundancy — Plixus network supports ring topology to re-route signal if a cable or device fails, maintaining delegate unit connectivity.
- No Manual Intervention Required — Failover sequence is fully automated; meeting operations continue without operator action on engine failure.
- Compatible with All Plixus Systems — Applies to the full range of Plixus Engines and CoCon Room Servers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a spare Plixus Engine required to use CoCon Redundancy?
Yes. CoCon Redundancy activates failover between a primary and a pre-installed spare Plixus Engine. The spare engine must be purchased and installed separately.
Is the ePowerSwitch4 included in the license purchase?
Yes. The ePowerSwitch4 is included with the CoCon Redundancy license to manage the automatic startup of the standby engine.
Does CoCon Redundancy cover network-level failures?
CoCon Redundancy covers engine and CoCon Room Server failover. Plixus loop network topology (configured separately) provides cable and device-level redundancy at the network layer.
How long does the failover take?
Failover is automatic and designed to occur without disrupting ongoing meetings. Consult Televic documentation or your reseller for specific switchover timing benchmarks.
Is CoCon Redundancy compatible with all Plixus engine types?
Yes. The license applies to the Plixus Engine and CoCon Room Server across the full Plixus product family.
