The TSQD-128A was developed with a fixed bill of materials, co-specified with the media manufacturer to ensure that only components verified with TASCAM products are used. Each card is individually checked and pre-formatted by TASCAM before shipment, eliminating the need for first-use formatting and confirming operational status. The control IC is selected for resistance to the random-access patterns generated by multitrack audio recording, which cause write speed fragmentation in standard SD cards over repeated use.
