Product Overview
The TASCAM TA-1VP is a 1U rack-mount Antares Auto-Tune vocal processor and microphone preamplifier co-developed by TASCAM and Antares Audio Technologies, providing hardware-based real-time pitch correction, microphone modeling, tube emulation, compression, de-essing, and EQ in a single unit for live sound, broadcast, and studio vocal processing. It is the first standalone hardware Auto-Tune processor designed for live sound applications, delivering the same processing used in recorded pop, hip-hop, and R&B productions without a DAW or software plugin.
Product Description
The TA-1VP uses Antares' Auto-Tune Evo engine for real-time pitch correction with configurable key, scale, and retune speed — from transparent correction to the full hard-tuned effect associated with contemporary pop and hip-hop. Antares Microphone Modeling applies the frequency response and proximity characteristics of specific high-end studio microphones to any connected mic, with an analog tube emulation stage adding harmonic richness without the heat or maintenance of actual tube hardware. A variable-knee compressor with gate controls dynamics before the vocal reaches the main mix. A de-esser targets sibilance frequencies independently of the main EQ. A bypass filter and a 4-band output EQ shape the final vocal tone for the connected venue or monitoring environment. MIDI SysEx supports preset and setup data transfer for session recall. A footswitch input allows on/off bypass or hold-note triggering during performance. The TA-1VP is available at Creation Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the TA-1VP capable of the hard-tuned Auto-Tune effect heard in pop and hip-hop?
- Yes. Setting the retune speed to maximum (0ms) produces the characteristic hard pitch correction effect. Presets for Male Voice and Female Voice can be used as starting points for adjustment.
- Can the TA-1VP model different microphones on a single connected mic?
- Yes. Antares Microphone Modeling applies a source mic neutralization and a target mic model to any connected microphone, simulating the frequency response and proximity characteristics of specific high-end studio mics.
- Does the TA-1VP require a DAW or computer for real-time processing?
- No. All processing — Auto-Tune, mic modeling, tube emulation, compression, de-essing, and EQ — runs in dedicated hardware without a computer or DAW for zero-latency live performance use.
- What is the footswitch input used for?
- A standard 1/4-inch TS footswitch connects to the TA-1VP for hands-free bypass switching or hold-note triggering during performance.
- What warranty applies to the TA-1VP?
- TASCAM products purchased through authorized dealers including Creation Networks carry TASCAM's standard limited warranty.
