Product Description

Installing the IF-MA64/EX enables the DA-6400 to sit in-line between a MADI console and Pro Tools or another primary recording system. Audio from the console passes through the DA-6400 to the DAW continuously, while the DA-6400 records its own 64-channel backup copy. If a DAW session crashes or loses sync, the DA-6400 backup continues unaffected. The redundant MADI coaxial pass-through maintains this signal flow even during a complete power loss on the DA-6400, which no other single-device approach provides. Both optical (SC connector) and coaxial (BNC connector) MADI I/O are available on the IF-MA64/EX, while the IF-MA64/BN provides coaxial only at a lower price point. The card occupies one of the two available expansion slots on the DA-6400; the second slot can hold a Dante, AES/EBU, or second MADI card for additional I/O.
