The Tannoy CMS 801 PI 8 Ohm Back Can is an acoustically enhanced pre-installation back can for CMS 801 PI ceiling loudspeakers. Designed for new-construction, non-suspended ceilings, it lets integrators rough in speaker locations and containment before the ceiling is closed. The zinc-plated steel enclosure includes an integrated 60W line transformer for 70V/100V distributed audio and installs quickly with the supplied flexible metal straps, reducing project finalisation time.
Product Description
The CMS 801 PI 8 Ohm Back Can is purpose-built for pre-installation of CMS 801 PI loudspeakers in newly constructed, non-suspended ceilings. Installing the low-profile back can early lets crews complete containment and wiring before the ceiling is finished, which significantly reduces the time required to finalise the project. The integrated low-insertion-loss 60W line transformer supports 70V and 100V distributed audio systems, so the speaker can be tapped to the design level without additional in-line components. Phoenix connectors are provided for input and link output, simplifying daisy-chained wiring across a zone. Flexible metal straps secure the can to the ceiling structure, and an optional plaster (mud) ring is available separately to identify pre-wire locations.
