SurgeX SX-SA15VS8 – SA-15 + SX-VS-128 Surge & PDU Bundle
What is the SurgeX SX-SA15VS8?
The SurgeX SX-SA15VS8 is a factory bundle that pairs the SurgeX SA-15 Standalone surge eliminator and power conditioner with the SurgeX SX-VS-128 Vertical Series+ IP-controlled vertical PDU. It is built for AV and IT racks that need series-mode surge elimination and 8-outlet managed power distribution under one part number. Ordering the bundle keeps the protection stage and the outlet-switching PDU matched and quoted on a single line.
How does the SurgeX SX-SA15VS8 work?
The SA-15 sits upstream and uses SurgeX Advanced Series Mode technology to stop surges up to 6,000 volts without dumping energy onto the ground wire. Its output feeds the SX-VS-128, a 0U Vertical Series+ PDU that mounts along the side rail and carries 8 individually switchable receptacles. Because the Vertical Series+ PDU is IP-controlled, each outlet can be turned on, off, or power-cycled remotely, scheduled, or sequenced, and the unit reports into SurgeX CONNECT and third-party control systems. For integrators, the bundle answers two rack questions at once: how the rack is protected from surges and line noise, and how outlets get managed without spending rack units. The SX-VS-128 is rated 120V/12A on the distribution side.
What are the key features of the SurgeX SX-SA15VS8?
- One part number — The protection stage and the managed PDU ship and quote together.
- IP-controlled outlets — Every receptacle on the Vertical Series+ PDU can be switched or cycled over the network.
- 0U vertical mounting — The PDU rides the side rail, leaving rack units free for equipment.
- SurgeX CONNECT compatible — Power status and control report into SurgeX CONNECT and third-party control systems.
- Advanced Series Mode — Non-sacrificial surge elimination that does not wear out or contaminate ground.
- EMI/RFI filtering — Impedance-tolerant filtration reduces line noise that causes hum and pixelation.
