The SoundTube IPD-HP82-EZ is a Dante®-enabled, IP-addressable 8" coaxial pendant speaker engineered for high-output performance in large commercial spaces. BroadBeamHP™ compression driver technology delivers extended throw and controlled 135° dispersion — making it exceptionally well-suited to venues with high ceilings where conventional pendant speakers lose intelligibility. Power, audio, and control reach each speaker over a single category cable from a PoE switch, with optional 24V DC power for non-PoE environments. Designed for environments where both reach and audio quality are non-negotiable, the SoundTube IPD-HP82-EZ integrates the full STNet platform into a robust pendant housing. The speaker pairs an 8" treated paper cone woofer with cloth surround with a 1" titanium compression driver and waveguide for high-output, controlled directivity performance reaching 111 dB max SPL @ 1M.

Unlike passive pendant speakers that require dedicated amplifier infrastructure, the IPD-HP82-EZ draws power and receives digital audio over the same standard Ethernet cable used for network data — simplifying conduit runs and eliminating in-rack amplifier channels. The speaker connects to a SoundTube STNet Switch or any PoE/PoE+ switch (30W maximum; 40W with STNet Switch II), and can also be powered via a 24V DC barrel connector for retrofit or non-PoE installations.

The enclosure is constructed from injection-molded ABS with glass fiber reinforcement, rated for both indoor and outdoor applications. The IPD-RS82-EZ uses a 1" silk dome tweeter with BroadBeam Ring® for 107° coverage, suited to lower-ceiling pendant and open-ceiling installations.

Can the IPD-HP82-EZ be used outdoors?
