Product Description

Built on SoundTube’s STNet platform, the IPD-RS82-EZ delivers low-latency Dante® digital audio and centralized control to pendant-mount locations that are often difficult or costly to serve with traditional analog infrastructure. Its 8" polypropylene cone woofer with butyl rubber surround and 1" silk dome tweeter with BroadBeam Ring® produce a balanced, natural sound character well-suited to background music, paging, and speech intelligibility applications.

The speaker connects to any IEEE 802.3af/at (PoE/PoE+) switch at up to 30W, or to the SoundTube STNet Switch II at up to 40W for maximum output. An optional 24V DC barrel connector input accommodates non-PoE and retrofit installations. Maximum SPL reaches 110 dB @ 1M, with frequency response extending from 80 Hz to 22 kHz (±10 dB).

The enclosure is injection-molded ABS with glass fiber reinforcement for lasting durability in both indoor and outdoor applications. The powder-coated aluminum grille provides corrosion resistance in high-humidity environments. Galvanized steel hanging cables and a hanging bracket are included, and the unit can be mounted direct-to-conduit via a locking cover plate. The unit ships in eco-friendly, recyclable packaging.

What is the difference between the RS82-EZ and the HP82-EZ?

The IPD-RS82-EZ uses a 1" silk dome tweeter with BroadBeam Ring® for 107° smooth-dispersion coverage, suited to mid-height open-ceiling pendant installations. The IPD-HP82-EZ uses a titanium compression driver with waveguide for higher SPL (111 dB vs 110 dB) and 135° coverage, optimized for high-ceiling long-throw applications.

Can the IPD-RS82-EZ be used outdoors?

The enclosure is rated for both indoor and sheltered outdoor use. The powder-coated aluminum grille resists corrosion. Include the weather plug for moisture protection when installing in partially exposed environments.
