Product Overview
The Soundcraft Vi2000 is a large-format digital live sound console designed for touring productions, corporate AV, and installed sound applications requiring a full-featured mixing system in a compact single-box package. Built on the same Vistonics touchscreen control surface architecture as the Vi3000, Vi5000, and Vi7000, the Vi2000 delivers 96-channel FOH and monitor mixing capability within a frame only 1.15 metres wide. The integrated Soundcraft SpiderCore DSP engine — derived from Studer broadcast console technology — provides a 40-bit floating-point processing environment with 246 inputs and 214 outputs, making the Vi2000 a complete large-venue digital mixing system without the need for an external rack unit.
Product Description
The Vi2000 digital mixing system brings the acclaimed Vi Series workflow to budget- and space-conscious productions. The control surface features 16 input faders and 8 output faders across 3 Vistonics touchscreens — two input screens and one master screen — giving engineers direct parameter access across all 96 input channels via layered fader operation. Patented Faderglow illumination colour-codes fader slots by function, reducing layer-change errors in demanding live environments.
At the heart of the Vi2000 is the SpiderCore integrated DSP engine, which runs 40-bit floating-point processing at 48kHz using the same STUDER, BSS, Lexicon, and dbx algorithms found in Studer's high-end broadcast consoles. The processing pool includes 4 Lexicon multi-effects units (14 reverbs, 7 delays, 8 pitch-shift effects per unit), 8 instances of the BSS DPR901ii 4-band Dynamic EQ, 24 BSS graphic EQs across all mono/stereo busses, and 64 assignable insert points. V6.3 software adds vMIX automatic microphone mixing for up to two groups of 16 channels — particularly useful in corporate AV and multi-microphone conference applications.
The Vi2000 includes a built-in 64x64 channel Dante interface via dual EtherCon ports for direct recording and virtual soundcheck connection to any DAW over standard Ethernet. An optical MADI interface runs in parallel with the Dante port for record feeds or connection to the Soundcraft Realtime Rack, which adds Universal Audio UAD-powered plug-ins to the signal chain. Two D21m expansion slots — each supporting two option cards — provide access to additional MADI stageboxes or the full range of ViSi Connect option cards covering Dante, MADI, ADAT, and other formats. On-board local I/O is configurable up to 48 mic/line inputs and 16 line outputs using 16-channel XLR modules across four rear-mounted slots.
The VM2 microphone monitoring feature displays battery, RF, mute, and clip status for AKG, Shure ULXD/QLXD, and Sennheiser 6000-series wireless systems directly on the channel strip — a practical tool for touring engineers managing large wireless microphone inventories. Redundant mains inputs and a compact frame design make the Vi2000 suitable for both fly-in rental deployments and permanent installations where reliability and space efficiency are priorities.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What stageboxes are compatible with the Vi2000?
- The Vi2000 connects to up to two 64-channel Vi Stageboxes via optical MADI or Cat5 option cards fitted to the D21m expansion slots. It is also compatible with the Compact Stagebox and Mini Stagebox 32i/16i. Third-party MADI stageboxes can be connected via appropriate D21m option cards.
- Does the Vi2000 include Dante networking as standard?
- Yes. A 64x64 channel Dante interface is built in, accessible via two EtherCon ports (primary and secondary). This allows direct connection to any Dante-enabled device or DAW for recording and virtual soundcheck without additional hardware.
- Can the Vi2000 be used for monitor mixing as well as FOH?
- Yes. The 24 mono/stereo aux/group busses can be configured for monitor sends, and the console supports both FOH and monitor mixing workflows. In dual-console touring setups, Vi series consoles can share show files and mirror configurations.
- What are the on-board processing options beyond standard EQ and dynamics?
- The Vi2000 includes 4 Lexicon multi-effects units, 8 instances of the BSS DPR901ii 4-band dynamic EQ, 24 BSS graphic EQs across all busses, and vMIX automatic microphone mixing. External processing can also be inserted via the 64 assignable insert points or the Soundcraft Realtime Rack for UAD plug-in support.
- Is the Vi2000 compatible with Vi series show files from other consoles?
- The Vi2000 runs the same Vi software platform as the Vi3000, Vi5000, and Vi7000. Show files are generally transferable within the Vi series, though channel count differences may require adjustment when moving between larger and smaller frame sizes.
- What warranty does the Vi2000 carry?
- The Soundcraft Vi2000 is backed by Harman Professional Solutions warranty coverage. Contact Creation Networks for specific warranty terms applicable to your purchase and region. Extended service contracts may be available through authorised Harman service partners.
- How does the Vi2000 integrate with an existing Dante network in an installed AV system?
- The Vi2000's built-in Dante interface connects directly to any Dante-enabled network switch. It can receive and send 64 channels simultaneously, allowing integration with Dante-networked amplifiers, processors, and stagebox systems without additional conversion hardware. The console appears as a standard Dante device manageable through Dante Controller software.
