Product Overview

The Soundcraft Si Performer 3 is a professional digital mixing console built for live sound engineers who need simultaneous audio and DMX 512 lighting control from a single surface. Designed for house of worship, touring theatre, and conference productions, this 80-input digital mixer delivers the mix power of large-format consoles in a compact, roadworthy package. With 32 local recallable mic preamps, two ViSi Connect option card slots, and integrated fader automation, the Si Performer 3 is a complete production tool for installations where console space and operator headcount are at a premium. It is available now at Creation Networks.

Product Description

The Soundcraft Si Performer 3 draws on the EMMA DSP platform — the same engine powering the Si and Si Compact series — to deliver 448 rack units of equivalent DSP processing within a single console surface. Each of the 32 mono mic inputs features a recallable high-quality preamp, and 8 stereo line inputs bring the total mix capacity to 80 inputs. The two ViSi Connect option card slots (one 64x64, one 64x32) accept a wide range of Si series expansion cards including Dante, CAT5 or optical MADI, BSS BLU link, AVIOM, and CobraNet, making it straightforward to integrate with existing digital audio networks or connect Soundcraft and Studer stageboxes for remote I/O.

What separates the Si Performer 3 from standard digital mixing consoles is its built-in DMX 512 interface. Using the console's motorised faders, FaderGlow illumination system, and automation engine, operators can program and run lighting cues directly from the mix surface — eliminating the need for a separate lighting controller, road case, and operator position. This integrated lighting control workflow is particularly well-suited to house of worship environments, conference productions, and touring theatre companies working with lean crew sizes.

Bus processing is comprehensive across all outputs: every bus carries a BSS graphic EQ, 4-band fully parametric EQ, compressor, and delay — permanently assigned with no resource pooling required. Four stereo Lexicon FX processors based on the MX400 provide reverb, delay, and modulation effects without impacting the console's DSP headroom. LCR panning and configurable aux/group routing (up to 14 mono or 8 mono plus 6 stereo mixes) give engineers flexibility for complex front-of-house and monitor requirements.

The TOTEM (One Touch Easy Mix) system lets operators instantly redirect the fader layer to any AUX, FX, or matrix bus at the press of a key, while the 1 Control = 1 Function surface layout means every physical control maps directly to a single dedicated parameter — the same operational model as an analogue console. Security lockout, copy-and-paste for channels and busses, D.O.G.S. (Direct Out Gain Stabiliser) for stagebox-sharing scenarios, and Harman HiQnet network integration complete the feature set.

Key Features

  • 32 Recallable Mic Preamps — Local mono mic inputs with motorised fader control and per-channel recall for consistent gain staging across scenes.
  • 80 Inputs to Mix — 32 mono mic inputs plus 8 stereo line inputs provide a total of 80 mix channels for complex multi-source productions.
  • Integrated DMX 512 Lighting Control — Onboard DMX interface lets a single operator control both audio mix and lighting rig from the console surface, with cue automation via motorised faders.
  • 2 ViSi Connect Option Card Slots — 128x96 total I/O expansion (64x64 + 64x32 slots) supporting Dante, MADI, BLU link, AVIOM, CobraNet, and other Si series cards.
  • BSS GEQ on Every Bus — A dedicated 31-band BSS graphic EQ is permanently assigned to each bus — no shared pool, no resource conflicts.
  • 4 Stereo Lexicon FX Engines — Hardware-based MX400-derived effects processors with tap tempo, fully independent of the DSP budget.
  • Soundcraft FaderGlow — Fader slot illumination in distinct colours for FX, stereo, GEQ, PRE/POST aux, and linked mono channels eliminates navigation errors under stage lighting.
  • TOTEM One Touch Easy Mix — Single keypress instantly reconfigures the surface for AUX, FX, or matrix bus mixing on the faders.
  • 4-Band Fully Parametric EQ per Channel — Available alongside high pass filter, input delay, gate, and compressor on every input channel simultaneously.
  • 8 VCA Groups and 8 Mute Groups — Broad-level control and scene-based muting for structured live productions.
  • AES Digital I/O — AES in and out on the main I/O complement the analogue and expansion digital connections.
  • Harman HiQnet Integration — Network-based system control and monitoring within a broader Harman Professional AV ecosystem.

Typical Applications

  • House of worship — primary FOH console with integrated lighting control for weekly services and special events
  • Auditorium — large multi-purpose performance space requiring combined audio and DMX production from minimal crew
  • Multi-purpose room — conference and performance hybrid spaces needing flexible routing and scene recall
  • Touring theatre — compact console footprint with full production capability across varied venue configurations

Frequently Asked Questions

What expansion cards are compatible with the Si Performer 3?
The Si Performer 3 accepts all Si series ViSi Connect option cards across its two expansion slots. Supported formats include Dante, CAT5 MADI, optical MADI, MADI USB Combo, BSS BLU link, AVIOM A-Net, and CobraNet. This allows integration with most professional digital audio networks and Soundcraft or Studer stageboxes.
Can the Si Performer 3 control DMX lighting fixtures directly?
Yes. The console includes a built-in DMX 512 interface. Using the motorised faders, FaderGlow system, and the console's automation engine, operators can trigger and automate lighting scenes from the same surface used for audio mixing. No separate lighting controller is required for basic to intermediate DMX rig control.
How does the Si Performer 3 connect to a multitrack recording system?
Installing a MADI expansion card (CAT5 or optical) in one of the ViSi Connect slots provides a direct MADI feed to compatible DAWs and multi-track recorders. The MADI card also enables connection to plug-in systems such as Waves for live processing inserts.
Is the Si Performer 3 compatible with the dbx PMC16 personal monitoring system?
Yes. When a BSS BLU link (Si BLU link) option card is installed, the Si Performer 3 integrates directly with the dbx PMC16 Personal Monitoring System over standard Cat5 cabling, providing a cost-effective in-ear monitoring distribution solution.
What warranty does the Soundcraft Si Performer 3 carry?
Soundcraft products sold through authorised dealers carry the standard Harman Professional manufacturer's warranty. For specific terms and to register your unit, visit the Harman product registration portal. Creation Networks is an authorised Soundcraft dealer — contact us at creationnetworks.net for warranty support guidance.
Can two Si Performer 3 consoles share a single stagebox?
Yes. The D.O.G.S. (Direct Out Gain Stabiliser) feature prevents changes to mic gain on one console from affecting direct output levels on the other, making shared stagebox operation practical for broadcast or redundant FOH configurations.
What firmware version is current for the Si Performer 3?
As of the latest Soundcraft release, Si Performer Console Software v2.2 Build 1 (November 2025) is the current firmware. Free updates are available to all registered Si Performer users via the Soundcraft website.
