Product Overview
The Soundcraft Si Performer 2 is a professional digital mixing console that combines full-featured live sound mixing with a built-in DMX 512 lighting controller in a mid-format surface. Targeted at house of worship, touring theatre, and conference productions requiring 24 local mic inputs and up to 80 total channels, the Si Performer 2 delivers the same EMMA DSP core and ViSi Connect expansion architecture as the larger Si Performer 3 in a more compact footprint. Its integrated automated lighting control workflow eliminates the need for a dedicated lighting console, making it a practical choice for productions operating with limited crew or console space. Available at Creation Networks.
Product Description
The Si Performer 2 provides 24 local recallable mono mic preamps and 8 stereo line inputs, totalling 80 inputs to mix — the same mix capacity as the Si Performer 3 with a narrower physical surface suited to tighter stage or FOH positions. Two ViSi Connect option card slots (one 64x64, one 64x32) deliver 128x96 total expansion I/O, supporting Dante, CAT5 or optical MADI, BSS BLU link, AVIOM, and CobraNet option cards for integration with existing digital audio networks or Soundcraft and Studer stageboxes.
The integrated DMX 512 interface is the defining feature of the Si Performer series. Using the console's motorised faders, FaderGlow illumination, and automation system, a single operator can manage both audio mixing and lighting cueing from the same surface. This is particularly practical for house of worship services, conference productions, and touring theatre companies where separate lighting consoles and operators are not feasible.
Per-channel processing includes high pass filter, input delay, gate, compressor, and 4-band fully parametric EQ — all available simultaneously with no layering or resource sharing. Every bus carries a dedicated BSS 31-band graphic EQ, parametric EQ, compressor, and delay. Four hardware-based Lexicon FX processors (MX400-derived) operate independently of the DSP budget. TOTEM (One Touch Easy Mix) instantly redirects the fader surface to any AUX, FX, or matrix bus at a single keypress, keeping complex monitor and matrix workflows fast and tactile.
The 1 Control = 1 Function surface design means every physical control has a single dedicated function, labelled directly on the surface as it would be on an analogue console — reducing training time and minimising errors during live events. Copy-and-paste for channels, busses, and FX settings, plus D.O.G.S. for dual-console stagebox sharing, Harman HiQnet integration, and a colour touchscreen interface round out the operational toolkit.
Key Features
- 24 Recallable Mic Preamps — Local mono mic inputs with motorised fader control and scene recall for consistent, repeatable gain staging.
- 80 Inputs to Mix — 24 mono mic inputs plus 8 stereo line inputs provide a full 80 channels of mixing capacity.
- Integrated DMX 512 Lighting Control — Onboard DMX interface with motorised fader automation lets one operator run audio and lighting simultaneously from a single surface.
- 2 ViSi Connect Option Card Slots — 128x96 total expansion I/O (64x64 + 64x32) for Dante, MADI, BLU link, AVIOM, CobraNet, and other Si series digital I/O cards.
- BSS GEQ on Every Bus — Dedicated 31-band BSS graphic EQ permanently assigned per bus, no shared resource pool.
- 4 Stereo Lexicon FX Engines — Hardware-based MX400-derived processors with tap tempo, fully independent from channel and bus DSP processing.
- Soundcraft FaderGlow — Colour-coded fader illumination (FX, stereo, GEQ, PRE/POST aux) prevents routing confusion in dark stage environments.
- TOTEM One Touch Easy Mix — Instant surface reconfiguration to any AUX, FX, or matrix bus at the press of a single key.
- Full Per-Channel Processing — HPF, input delay, gate, compressor, and 4-band fully parametric EQ available simultaneously on every input channel.
- 8 VCA Groups and 8 Mute Groups — Structured level control and scene-based muting for live productions with complex stage layouts.
- D.O.G.S. (Direct Out Gain Stabiliser) — Prevents mic gain changes from affecting direct output levels when two consoles share a stagebox.
- Harman HiQnet Integration — System-level network control and monitoring within a Harman Professional AV infrastructure.
Typical Applications
- House of worship — primary FOH console with integrated DMX lighting control for services and special events
- Auditorium — mid-size performance spaces requiring combined audio and lighting production from a compact surface
- Multi-purpose room — hybrid conference and event spaces needing flexible routing and scene automation
- Touring theatre — space-efficient production console for theatre companies working across varied venue sizes

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between the Si Performer 2 and the Si Performer 3?
- The primary difference is local mic input count and physical width. The Si Performer 2 provides 24 mono mic inputs and measures 730mm wide, while the Si Performer 3 offers 32 mono mic inputs and measures 940mm wide. Both share the same 80-input total mix capacity, identical bus architecture, DMX 512 interface, and ViSi Connect expansion capability.
- Can the Si Performer 2 control DMX lighting fixtures without a separate controller?
- Yes. The Si Performer 2 includes a built-in DMX 512 interface. Using the console's motorised faders and automation engine, operators can program and trigger lighting scenes directly from the mix surface, removing the need for a standalone lighting console in most productions.
- What digital network expansion cards are supported?
- The two ViSi Connect slots support all Si series option cards including Dante, CAT5 MADI, optical MADI, MADI USB Combo, BSS BLU link, AVIOM A-Net, and CobraNet. This covers the major professional audio networking protocols used in installed and touring AV systems.
- How does the Si Performer 2 handle monitor mixing?
- The TOTEM (One Touch Easy Mix) system allows the operator to instantly reconfigure the fader surface to mix any AUX, FX, or matrix bus. The 14 aux/group mixes can be set as 14 mono or 8 mono plus 6 stereo mixes, providing sufficient bus count for most monitor wedge and IEM configurations without a separate monitor console.
- Is the Si Performer 2 suitable for house of worship permanent installations?
- Yes. The combination of scene recall, recallable mic preamps, security lockout, and integrated DMX lighting control makes the Si Performer 2 well suited to house of worship installations where volunteer operators need a consistent, repeatable workflow each service.
- What warranty applies to the Si Performer 2?
- Soundcraft products carry the standard Harman Professional manufacturer's warranty when purchased through an authorised dealer. Creation Networks is an authorised Soundcraft reseller — visit creationnetworks.net for purchasing and warranty support information.
