The Notepad-12FX accommodates a wide range of input sources. Four channels have XLR/TRS combo inputs for microphones or line-level sources. Two channels have dedicated Hi-Z 1/4" inputs for direct guitar or bass connection. Two stereo line input pairs accept balanced or unbalanced 1/4" sources, and an RCA stereo input handles consumer playback devices. USB audio return is summed to channels 9 and 10, allowing computer playback to be integrated directly into the mix at a dedicated level.

The Lexicon effects section provides reverb, delay, and chorus programs accessible via a dedicated effects send on each channel. A single 1/4" auxiliary output handles monitor sends or signal routing to outboard gear. Four-segment LED metering provides a quick visual reference for output level. All microphone-compatible inputs support 48V phantom power.
