Product Overview
The Sony VPL-FHZ91L/W is a 9,000-lumen WUXGA laser 3LCD installation projector for large venues, in a white finish. It pairs high brightness with an infinite dynamic contrast ratio and a 20,000-hour laser light source, plus Reality Creation processing, edge blending, generous lens shift, and an interchangeable-lens system. With BrightEra panels, 100% sRGB color, and broad connectivity, it suits auditoriums, houses of worship, museums, and large meeting and education spaces. This is the white, no-lens model.
Product Description
The VPL-FHZ91L/W is the white version of Sony's FHZ91L and shares its full specification. It uses a 3LCD system with BrightEra panels at native WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and outputs 9,000 lumens, enough for big-screen presentations in brightly lit rooms, with an infinite dynamic contrast ratio for detail in dark areas. Sony's Reality Creation enhances lower-resolution sources without adding noise, and Intelligent Setting presets optimize brightness, cooling, and color for the room. The laser light source runs up to 20,000 hours with maintained brightness and no lamp replacement. A quick-release bayonet mount accepts a range of interchangeable lenses (including a short-throw option), with a generous lens shift range, up to ±30° horizontal and vertical keystone (lens dependent), and lens position memory for up to six size/position/aspect settings (with the VPLL-Z4111). Powered or manual focus and zoom are available depending on the lens. Inputs include HDBaseT, HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, and 5BNC, with a VGA loop-through output and a slot for the optional BKM-PJ20 3G-SDI adapter. Edge blending joins color-matched images across multiple units, and the projector integrates with Crestron Connected and Extron XTP via HDBaseT or RS-232. It meets 100% of the sRGB color space in sRGB mode, includes an HTML viewer, and has a filter replacement cycle up to 10,000 hours. The white finish is the only difference from the VPL-FHZ91L/B.

The VPL-FHZ91L's strengths are its 9,000-lumen output, 3LCD color (no color-wheel rainbow effect), infinite dynamic contrast, and Reality Creation processing. DLP alternatives such as the Panasonic PT-RZ990 may be preferred where single-chip characteristics or marginally higher brightness are desired; confirm current competitor specifications before deciding.
